Does the Left Dream of a Bush Assassination?
In a movie that is likely the dream of those on the Left and possibly the seed for a copycat crime, the BBC is running a show on the assassination of President Bush.
LONDON (Reuters) - Channel 4 is courting controversy with what it calls a "shockingly real" drama about the fictional assassination of President George W. Bush."Death of a President," shot in the form of a documentary examining the assassination, will use a blend of archival footage and computer-generated special effects to portray Bush in October 2007 arriving in Chicago during an anti-war rally.
...."I'm sure there will be people upset by it," (More4 boss Peter Dale) said. "I hope people will see the intention as a good one."
And, exactly what is the good intention here? By whose standards? Should I read between the lines and into the hearts and minds of the left to know the truth? Perhaps, deep in some of their evil thoughts and writings, character assassination simply is not enough.
It goes further than that. This docudrama will also premier (to rave reviews?) at the Toronto Film Festival--not known to be widely attended by conservatives.
Have people from the Left expressed such views before? Well, here's this from the ChronWatch, which documented a statement in The Guardian before being removed.
On November 2, the entire civilised world will be praying, praying Bush loses. And Sod's law dictates he'll probably win, thereby disproving the existence of God once and for all. The world will endure four more years of idiocy, arrogance and unwarranted bloodshed, with no benevolent deity to watch over and save us. John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley Jr - where are you now that we need you? (emphasis added)
The Guardian claimed that the statement was intended as a joke. Aren't many a truth said in jest?
Let's consider other "jokes" of the left and our enemies (the same?).
A Tunisian astrologer (Hassan al-Sharibi's)...says President Bush will be killed by an assassin's bullet in 2005. ...However, the paper tempered its report by saying critics label Sharibi "a quack with flair who relies on logic and wishful thinking. (emphasis added)
Or, this....
Air America talk show hostess Randi Rhodes apparently crossed the line into the "put a gun to President Bush's head" camp...with a bad radio skit....
Bad taste, questionable intent, and dangerous possibilities--but, "it was just a joke." In fact, when I read that someone from the Left is against the assassination of President Bush, they often admit that it's because that they don't want VP Cheney to become President instead. That is their moral dilemma.
It seems that there are a lot of discussions and jokes along this line with the Left--but, I'm not laughing and neither should they. And, if they do dream about it, let's hope that no one acts out their dreams and hope that no one gets any bad ideas from them.

Assassinanion is not a solution, not in a republic, at least. Not in a durable, worthy, and unprecedented republic such as ours. (Fortunately, it's the only system I've lived under.)

Y'know, assassination of a lame-duck president during the last few weeks of a finished presidency might be the LLL's wishful dream--or it could be their worst nightmare (engineered by king-maker Rove, et al.) . Afterall, there would be no better excuse for the new President to declare martial law and a freeze on national elections to consolidate the rise of the neo-con GOP. There would be a crackdown and imprisonment at Gitmo of all political opponents, etc.
I'll bet this movie hits number one in cities like Hollywood, New York and Tehran. To bastardize Mark Twain, "suppose I was a film maker, or suppose I was a terrorist sympathizer.... but I repeat myself."

For those who came here via Randy Paul's post at "Beautiful Horizons", as I learned from the referring links.... First, I'm sorry that you even read that site. There's better information in "The Onion."
I have no use for Randy Paul who chose to link to this post and attack me, rather than consider that the evidence is overwhelming that the left hates President Bush to the extent that there would be champagne glasses clinking if he were killed and a double toast if V.P. Cheney had a heart attack over it, for which they have been wishful for years. BTW, he would have noticed that I mentioned that in the post if he had read it all rather than clinging to pre-formed conclusions.
Randy, of course, knows better than to directly discuss this or even to notify me that he was trying to attack me, as we've exposed him before as an intellectual fraud, having an inferiority complex, and being totally off base--for which the claim is well supported. Of course, he would deny this, especially the latter, despite his writing that he wanted me dead. Maybe he means it for me while not the President, since no one would succeed me. So, it's not the principle that murder is bad. It's just the result--like most of his situational ethics.
I choose to no longer visit his site, and I only used to respond to him at another blog when he attacked me, despite the site owner telling him to knock off the personal attacks and his agreeing--yet, breaking his word and continually repeating such attacks. Such is the case with unreasonable behavior.
I knew that he was far beyond hope for reason long ago, but he really confirmed it when he tried to pass himself off as being knowledgeable in my field and showed me that he has absolutely no clue--which must the case in almost everything that he discusses and for which he believes that he can be an expert, but isn't.
Pathetic. He needs to get over his lost battles and move along.
Nov 21, 2006 Update:
How sad. Randy Paul just keeps it up, as revealed from referrals (not many) from his site to this one. Pretty desperate.
