PlameGate...Ohhh, This is Good.
By now, you know that the Democrats' claims and attacks against Geroge Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, & Co. on the Valerie Plame "outing" turned out to be false. I said it all along and said that it was nothing but politics, i.e., helping Kerry's campaign, and making money, i.e. book deals. Liberal after liberal told me how stupid I was and that Rove and Cheney would soon be at the gallows. They weren't. But, as I am a gracious winner, I will leave the comment section open for them to come apologize and concede that I, and we, were correct.
That wasn't the good part. This is. Oyster (nice picture) did a very good job on PlameGate in her post titled "Yes, I'm smirking." She also included some good links to others who are smirking. In particular, I liked the "short 'n sweet" wrap-up in the Jawa Report that she referenced. It's a worthwhile visit to Oyster's "Soy Como Soy" site for a recap.
The comment section is now open. Liberals, try not to fill it up.

Thanks, Oyster. (Who's "they?") Say, is that a realistic likeness of you?

Meanwhile, the egg cannot be unscrambled; the episode has left lasting damage to the Bush administration.
The consequences for State Department officials (and others) who reportedly kept Armitage's identity secret from the Administration remains to be seen, but does call into question the degree of control that Bush has over the executive departments. Of course, this episode contradicts those who view Bush as a would-be dictator ruling with an iron fist.
This revelation also calls into question Fitzgerald's investigation, since he seems not to have interrogated Novak with any diligence or deliberately ignored the information he received. I'm sure much more will come out, but now that Bush has been cleared, I'm sure the mainstream press will give minimal coverage at most.

Why yes. The likeness is remarkably realistic, don't you think? It's a "self-portrait" if you will. Interestingly though, Journalspace seems to be enaging in a little PCism. While my self-portrait is assigned as my avatar, other JS members who have elected to display other user's avatars along with their comments get my old "real" picture. I wouldn't exactly rate my self-portrait as pornography, but JS seems to think it's offensive. (Mission accomplished, I say.)
