Democrats First 100 Days
During the fall campaign, Democrats promised to pass six urgent matters of legislation in their first 100 days. Well, none were passed and some never received votes. These issues are implementing all of the 9-11 Commission recommendations, the minimum wage, stem cell research, interest rates on student loans, the Medicare prescription-drug plan, and a comprehensive energy policy. Who would have guessed that the Democrats wouldn't do what they promised?
However, there have been nine bills signed into law during this period to rename post offices and courthouses. We now have the Rush Hudson Limbaugh Courthouse, so the session has not been a total waste.
Isn't it nice to have them change the way things are run in Washington?

Rush Hudson Limbaugh (Sr.), Federal Courthouse, LOL.
I can just imagine the "turmoil" that would ensue among Democrats in Congress if it were named after the "right" Rush.
It would make Imusgate pale to insignificance. :-)

Right none have became law...yet. Go here to see the progress of minimum wage. So looks like we will have a bill on its way to the president soon.
And here is info on lowering student loan interest rates.
So although the "6 for 06" aren't laws yet doesn't mean that they have broken agenda. It is silly to expect that they would become laws in 100 days since the average time for a bill to become law takes more than 100 days, and good ol' President Duh aka Captain Stutter has vowed to, "vuh vuh vuh veto them."
I know you weren't young enough for this but on Saturday Morning cartoons there was this little thing called "School House Rock" and it was here that all of us Gen X'ers got our first civics lessons. So I present this incredibly non partisan presentation for your benefit and education in Civics 101.
I'm just a bill
Next time you run to the conservative media for tripe such as this check your facts as to where the bill is in the process instead of painting a picture that the current congress is doing nothing. I did when the hyper unconstitutional Patriot Act was wending its way through Congress. In fact the Library of Congress would be a great place to start.

Share those links with Pelosi, who proudly proclaims in deceiving voters that all of this "legislation was passed," which implies more than the reality and more than what they bragged about in the press.

Really Woody? Where? When? Via what media source? I haven't heard this ANYWHERE!!! The article you present is from a conservative website of punditry. This site is far cry from the truth, or news. It lacks any real substance other than House Republicans make fun of House Democrats. So Woody show me. Show me that Pelosi opened her big fat yap and said what you alledge she said.

psyberwolfe, you say that the conservative website is a "far cry from the truth," but be aware that they got their information from your own Speaker of the House/Shadow Secretary of State. It's on her website! Next time don't use all capital letters to make a point, because they make you look stupid when you're wrong about something.

You are also strectching what was said for more than it is worth. Legislation doesn't mean that it has become law. It does mean that it is making its way through the process. Once again watch the School House Rock presentation. I really think you need that refresher in Civics 101.

Don't you think that I know how a bill is passed and signed into law? But, your Speaker uses the words "passed legislation" to simply fool everyone who was taught in government schools, because she expects that they don't know.

First she's your speaker to. Unless you are an illegal alien then we should contact INS.;) Let me also correct you. I don't think Pelosi thinks Americans are stupid like President Duh and company do. Is she stretching the truth? Maybe. Is she lying to the country? No.
Yes I do think you are clueless about the legislative process because you would have corrected the website punditry that you were so quick to quote. You should have said, "I think Pelosi is trying to get more mileage out of the Democrats current legislative successes," instead of saying, "None have passed." The latter is plain equivocation, and the primary tactic of most conservative pundits.

I'm proud to say that I made an "A" in high school civics.
