A Question For My Love: Will You Be My Valentine?
I've been lucky all my life. Lucky in the profession I have, lucky in the number of friends and the quality of my friends, lucky in just about everything. I've even survived cancer. I'm so lucky, I met and married you! You mean everything to me, you are my light, my life and my love.
You have stood beside me through thick and thin, been my support, my shoulder and my best friend. There are times when I watch you as you cross stich, or work on your computer, or bake bread, or just sleep that it occurs to me that your love means more to me than anything on this whole wide world.
I watch you when you don't think I am, and I realize how blessed I am. The smile on your face when I say something amusing, the set of your chin as you chide me for leaving the lights on or forgetting something I was supposed to do sets my heart beating with the knowledge that few men, very few men are as lucky as I am.
I want you to know how much you mean to me, and since I didn't propose marriage in a public place where everyone could applaud and smile and say "Awww, how cute," I wanted the world to know how much you mean to me. I love you more than you can ever know. Happy Valentine's Day Sweetheart, thank you for being in my life and for being my wife.

That's very nice, G.M. Thanks for setting the bar so high for the rest of us.

Congratulations, Norma.
Fortunately, GM Roper is not in love with Angela and Does Not Get Fooled by Transatlantic Love. ;-)
Cheers,
Joerg

As someone who has yet to get married, but planning on a wedding later this year (yes I'm making Mrs. Gribbit Legit), I'm hoping to have a kind of marriage that mirrors the kind that GM and Norma have.
Congratulations to you both. For having the kind of marriage that others aspire to have.

GM you're such a gentleman. And what a beautiful note to Norma, who is SO lucky to have you. True love is something to be cherished; it's obvious you worship the ground Norma walks on. Someday, I will judge my better half by your standards GM.
Congratulations to both of you! May you have MANY more Valentine Days together!

What a beautiful posting, GM! This is as beautiful as a sonnet from Songs of the Portuguese.
As we teachers of English composition are fond of saying when something like this appears in a stack of papers to grade, "You found your voice with this one!"
