The Democrats: A Gift That Keeps On Giving
Filed under Democrats
From the Associated Press:
WASHINGTON - Former Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards intends to enter the 2008 race for the White House, two Democratic officials said Saturday.Only a couple of Democrats could think that because they don't give their names they haven't let John Edwards "cat out of the bag."
[...]
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they did not want to pre-empt Edwards’ announcement." [Emphasis added].

GM, do you know where he's supposed to announce it?
Down here in New Orleans...
in the hardest hit area.
I guess his ambulance chasing days lead guide him to disasters.

In the words of a famous, fictional Marine, "Surprise, surprise, surprise." Whe would have thought John Edwards might run for president? Well, at least, these guys didn't jump the gun and tell everyone.
I think I know why there are two Democrats not running for president, not smart enough.

The Democrats are certainly the environmental party; they love recycling! How much more mileage can they get from the same old retreads?

I heard that Hillary Rodham has already decided to run for President. Keep it quiet, though. We don't want to ruin the surprise.

How do you write a Democrat? To paraphrase a Jack Nicholson movie, 'Think of a Republican, then remove all reason and accountability'.

A secondary issue with his candidacy, but one which will attract some attention, and is also a highly sensitive one (esp. at this site), is Mrs. Edwards to-date successful struggle against breast cancer.

(After blogging about it, I browsed her book, Saving Graces, in the bookstore, and I would not call it a partisan hack job. Whether her "story" becomes an issue onthe campaign trail will be interesting....)
If she'd called the book "Cancer Sucks," I guess she'd've tapped into more populist sentiment.

Get used to it, guys...after 8 years of the most incompetent, inept, and criminally stupid President in the history of the country, the next Pres will undoubtedly be a Democrat.
Now, if we could only come up with a candidate...
