Is Stupidity Necessary In "The Academy?"

This week, I've not spent much time scouring the blogosphere as I got ready for my first internet radio show (which didn't go very well given some technical glitches (see the post below). So, today when I resumed looking for some interesting items to share with you, my beloved readers of the left and the right, I visited an old friend's blog Reasonable Prudence by Todd Pearson and noted his "pique" at the University of Wisconson-Madison.

It seems that academic freedom includes teaching B.S. (and no, that doesn't stand for Bachelor of Science). A professor there (actually, he is a part time lecturer), if one can reasonably call him one who professes, is teaching a course in which he holds forth that the collapse of the Twin Towers on 9/11 was "9-11 was probably an American operation to launch a war on Islam countries." This is a part of the course that Kevin Barrett will be teaching entitled "Islam: Religion and Culture." Of course, he also must believe then that flight 93 didn't occur or that the Pentagon was not hit by a plane as opposed to some of the loonier claims by paranoid conspiracy folk on the left (and maybe a few on the right as well, though I've not seen those.)

Vinnie, blogging at Jawa Report (another mu.nu blog) has a video up that is very impressive and lays that conspiracy b.s. to rest in "Myth Busted." I've copied it from YouTube for your education, elucidation and your edification and because it's my blog. Thanks Vinnie, thanks Todd!

Oh, you're just taking up for Bush for one of his schemes. Well, that's the type of remark that I get when I laugh off their conspiracy theories. Now, we need some graphics to show that Bush didn't start Hurricane Katrina and didn't bomb the levees--not that the left would believe it.

Universities have gone completely nuts and have been hiring the same. This is the same crowd that thought nothing of physically taking over the Dean's office in the 1960's and 70's--and, they got away with it. Now, they have taken over the Dean's office, literally and figuratively, again. The only difference is that the taxpayer pays them rather than some youth communist or radical group.

That's a very good video presentation--that will never be accepted by the closed-minded leftists. I hope that, when you classified this under a topic, you classified it as "humor" because it would be a laugh to think that the left would accept anything resembling the truth.

The very first comment on that post at the Jawa Report slayed me:

"WTF? Are there humans on the blue marble that require this kind of care and feeding?"

Well, yes. There are. Nothing short of a slap in the face will make them see reality. And then sometimes, as soon as the sting of the slap wears off, they revert back to that imaginary land which exists only between their ears.

Yeah, oyster, the slap doesn't work either. Amusing fantasy though, innit?
