Damn....and I've been bad-mouthing American education, or the lack thereof!
This must have been like the French General Staff in WW II......So, Henri, where will the Boche come from this time? Well, Jean-Paul, they came through Belgium last time, so there is no chance they'll do that again, right? Of course not.
As for mortarman......one of two things happened: Counter-battery fire or leaving too many increments on the mortars rounds. Moral to that story: Deal with professionals, not idiots.
