Can Global Warming Help G.M. and Dr. Sanity?

It's true. Global warming is accused of creating many problems, some of which you would never imagine. The latest GW issue could increase work for mental health care providers.

Global warming possibly linked to an enhanced risk of suicide: Data from Italy, 1974–2003

This study sets out to explore the impact of global warming on suicide mortality.... For males, increasing anomalies in monthly average temperatures associated to a higher monthly suicide mean from May to August and, to a lower extent, in November and December.

An improvement in the ability of communities to adjust to temperature changes...by implementing public health interventions may play an important part...in limiting the worst consequences of suicidal behaviour.

You believe that, don't you? People behind global warming scares wouldn't be guilty of hype, would they?

There's no hype in this additional bad news about global warming. It appears that a hedgehog is having emotional distress because of it.

The hedgehog with 'global balding'

A nice, soft fluffy coat is of little use to a hedgehog. But poor old Glen is having to make do without any prickles - apparently thanks to global warming.

I'm worried that the hedgehog will be so distraught over its loss of hair that it may try to run over a cliff. ...Hey, take this seriously!

We had snow today in my area. I'm blaming global warming.

Global warming is causing my baldness and is causing my aging. I also believe that global warming is the sole reason I breathe. Al Gore is our prophet Muhammed and we should bow and pray to him 5 times a day and submit any common sense that suggests global warming is a cycle that we happen to be in!
From the Australian to correct their global warming the estimate is a mere $95 bn. and that doesnt include electric rate hikes.

"The people behind global warming"???

Awesome. Who are these people? I can see their backstories now;

"Well, I decided to remortgage the house and invest in a global catastrophe, what about you?"

"Me, oh my family have always been in the apocalypse industry. I was working on a plan of ocean destruction from sharks genetically altered to have high powered laser beams, when I saw this GW bandwagon and thought this one's got a much better chance of success!"

There are no "people behind global warming" Woody. There are just people who are more interested in the world their children will inherit than they are in the profits of their share investments.

Gary, conversations of "the people behind global warming" go something like this:

"One more paper on this and we'll be able to 'scare up' another grant," or,
"Capitalism is such an economic evil, so making the U.S. conform to higher warming standards than Red China will help us to overcome it, or,
"I don't understand it, but it must be serious if Al Gore is involved."

Those people aren't interested in a better world for their children, because they're getting ready to lower their standard of living and to pledge 20% of the GNP to something that is no where as proven in benefits or as education and medical research...and, that's the choice you have to make between alternate needs. One gains and the others suffer.

Frankly, most people who support global warming don't understand it, are relying on faulty research, or are dishonest.

Gary, the complete phrase was "behind global warming scares." Makes a difference. I am giving you credit for carelessness rather than deception.

As to children, I've got four, and I am far more concerned whether certain ideas key to the preservation of western civilization get passed down to them than whether the earth is slightly warmer. The demographics of who are having children and who are not in North America and Europe would suggest that people who actually have children don't tend to be much worried about AGW.

AVI, thanks for pointing out my complete description that Gary missed, as I responded to his mislabeling without realizing then what he had done. Also, your comment about concerns of people with children was interesting. The Left is always doing things "for the childrennnnn" (you have to draw it out in a whiney voice.) Why don't they take care of their own (which many don't have because they're still convinced of overpopulation rhetoric) and let us take care of ours without their help?
