Beware of Democrats Changing Voting Methods
Whenever Democrats want a change in the voting process, you can bet that it's not because they actually believe the change is fair or that it is good for democracy. One recent notable case was trying to make every Arizona voter eligible for a million dollar lottery. Vote for us! We'll give you a million dollars! There are many cases of rushing to register illegal aliens and multiple law suits to fight voter identification laws. Sure we'll let you vote without an ID, but you better have one to buy cigarettes! They know that illegal votes and fraud helps Democrats. You do, too.
The latest crusade for voting change comes from Oregon's Democratic Secretary of State Bill Bradbury, who is writing and campaigning with other Democrats and the usual suspects to have all states adopt the new Oregon voting process of vote by mail. Watch out.
.
By Bill Bradbury, The Washington Post, 11/19/2006
This month, as controversies emerged in other parts of the country over polling place problems and malfunctioning touch-screen machines, we here in Oregon prepared to swear in a new crop of elected officials with nary a question about the legitimacy of the count or the functioning of our electoral process. We accomplished this with a turnout on Nov. 7 that was, once again, among the highest in the nation. How? With Vote by Mail. The system has proven to be fraud-free.
Oh, really? I can see substantial abuses of this system using underhanded tactics common to Democrats. Let's see. What types of voting controls are they trying to circumvent and what kinds of abuses do they plan?
▪Campaigning at the polls not allowed. So, come to our voting party at Democratic headquarters! Refreshments and free door prizes! Oh, you're young. It's a rock concert!
▪No liquor sales on election day discourages bribes. Sign your ballot and give it to us. Have a drink...and a smoke.
▪Protection of the mentally incompetent and elderly. Sign your ballot and give it to us. We really came to the nursing home to help you with your civic duty.
▪Canvassing inner city neighborhoods. Sign your ballot and give it to us. We're the ones who give you public housing and welfare benefits. Not, enough? Sign it and here's ten dollars. Or, can't read? Don't blame us for the public schools. Give me your ballot.
▪Illegal alien? No problem. Motor-Voter gets you a ballot with a drivers license. No further checking for ID's at the poll. LOL
▪One ballot for one voter. Multiple ballots have actually gone to individual voters. So, use them. Who's to know?
▪Secret ballot safe from intimidation. Come on down to the union hall. You were voting for the Democrats anyway, so show us and we'll mail it for you. The union bosses will be showng the movie on Jimmy Hoffa.
▪Pressure from religious organizations. Come to our place of worship to fill out your ballots, give them to us to mail, and join our suicide-bomber group. (We keep losing members.) Or, Sen. Kerry will speak at the Antioch AME Church, and we will help you vote for him.
▪Absentee ballots privacy concerns are optional (opt-in), not mandatory (opt-out.) Well, your mom wanted to have an absentee ballot because she's leaving town, but if she wasn't, we'll make sure that her voting privacy is still compromised.
▪All voters get ballots. Oh, heck. We had a mailing foul-up and the zip codes for Republicans will get ballots late. Or, oops. We left out some pages for those Republican zip codes.
▪Voter identification protection. Don't think that we can forge signatures? Just watch.
▪Felons voting. We'll make sure that your ballot gets forwarded to your prison. We think you should vote--for us.
▪What's to fix? Voting system not broken. Yes it is. Mail-in votes stops Republican fraud--like in Ohio. Was fraud against Republicans proved? Yes, according to liberal blogs. Oh.
▪Mail in ballots Can be matched to voter. Your name is on the envelope and we saw the ballot from it when it was "carelessly" handled in the election office. You must not want tenure very much.
▪Dead voters. Doesn't matter. All dead voters are Democrats. This way they don't have to be dragged to the polls.
▪Ballots not lost in polling place. You can trust the USPS to deliver your ballot on time, and trust the election supervisor's office to mark it received on time--maybe. Except the military.
I'm stopping, even thought I know there's more. These people and others see fraud abuse with vote by mail, too. I'm not alone.
To me, it's a sign of potential fraud when the "turnout" percentage of eligible voters suddenly jumps to eighty-four percent! Those who commit fraud would want to say this is a good sign of voter particpation. I say that it's a sign that they have taken the voting controls and checks out of sight of the poll watchers and into the alleys and backrooms (and, a lot of formerly disinterested voters are suddenly casting uninformed votes.) Democracy demands honest elections with informed voters using secret ballots and with controls against abuse. The Democrats want to undo that for their own ends. If one naively claims that the Republicans could do this too, it only adds more weight that the new mail-in system is bad. If there are problems with our current voting procedures, there are better ways to fix them than this.
Call me crazy, but I don't trust the Democrats. Don't let this mandatory mail-in voting method gain momentum. It sounds great--for abuse. But, Democrat Bill Bradbury stated, "The system has proven to be fraud-free." Why would he say something that isn't true?
Posted by Woody M. at November 24, 2006 06:30 PM | TrackBackIf it was up to me, we'd go on using the old system. Vote-by-mail is just plain stupid, as are the concepts of not needing ID to vote or allowing illegal aliens and convicted felons to vote.
Today, "Democrat" is pretty well the same thing as "fraud", anyway. They do whatever they have to to win elections, rules, regs, legalities and fairness need not apply.
The MSM being what it is, for example, we didn't read or hear much about a lot of expatriate NY Dems living in Florida who, in 2000, voted at the polls in Fla and again by absentee ballot in NY, in numbers exceeding those cited in the "hanging chad" kerfuffle, all we heard was accusations of "foul" against the Republicans.

I agree in general. But in NH the Democrats are moving to eliminate straight-ticket voting, which helped them this time.
I acknowledge that there may be a calculation that it usually works against them in NH, but wanted to give credit where I could.

First let me link to Instapundit ( http://instapundit.com/archives2/2006/11/post_517.php )
In Kentucky alone, out of 200,000 voters, 7000 are known to be deceased, and that doesn't count those with birthdates in the 1800's or 01/01/01. Another 5600 are registered twice in the state. The technology to detect and correct this type of thing has been around for literally decades, but nothing ever gets done about it. Why is that? Because those in power don't want it corrected. Its tough for dead people to vote if they're not on the voter rolls, no matter what the method of voting, eh?

During the last election for Governor in Washington state, there was plenty of voter fraud by mail.
Dead people, illegal immigrants, people voting more than once, felons voting (some from prison).
Oddly, the lions share was for the Democratic candidate.
Imagine that.
New state motto: Vote early, vote often, vote Democrat!

Vulgorilla, you reminded me of a similar post on this site from last March with a focus on Wisconsin.

Ben, the governor's election in Washington state was won by the Republicans but the Democratic judges kept allowing recount after recount using different criteria and newly discovered and unsecured ballots until they got enough to put the Democrat in.

I guess the slogan, "Count every vote and every vote counts" is really a hollow cry of the Democrats. When Democrats control the process, legitimate votes lose value to those illegal ones--sort of like counterfeit money reduces the value of real money.
Strange that the Democrats don't worry about voter fraud when they win and strange that the press doesn't pursue Democratic fraud. Not really. It's what I've come to expect.
I don't have time, but maybe someone could pull a lot of the Democratic voter fraud posts together for a more comprehensive overview and discussion.
At least we need to be aware of their tactics to fight them on future elections.

You are right, Woody.
The Republican won, but we ended up with a Democrat, who immediately broke her campaign promise not to raise taxes, by raising taxes as soon as she moved in to the Governors mansion..
There were many military absentee ballots that were not counted (I wonder why?) along with the perpetually appearing "lost" boxes of ballots from King county (Seattle liberalville).
Here they have a mixture of mail-in ballots and regular voting booths, depending onwhere you live.

OH! And get this! John Kerry paid for the 3rd recount!
Democrat loses 2 out of 3 and still wins. Ugh!

Thank you! All too often, people assume I identify with and support democrats simply because I'm certainly not a republican. This is becoming a big problem in environmentalism, I think. Most people spend so much of their time fighting over a larger slice of the pie....there are still a lot of us who want an entirely different pie.The notion that people assume their ideologies can be split up into only two categories is nothing short of insane.

I've long opposed the trend towards expanding absentee/mail-in ballots as a negation of our democratic franchise. Not only does this jeopardize the hard-fought right of a secret and secure ballot, it also negates the fundamental principles of voting - the shared civic exercise of voting tegether with our fellow citizens in the public arena on the same day. And worse, by catering to convenience, expedience, and comfort, it further denegrates the sacrifices of our forebears to secure our freedoms and our right to vote. Voting should cost something, in terms of effort and committment: if we fail to sacrifice something for it, we will value our right to vote too little. If we can't be bothered to defend our freedoms, others will be all too happy to oblige us...
