Democrats Dig Deep to Mobilize Voter Base

Approximately six feet deep. Democrats always manage to turn out the vote in this base given up for dead.

Dead voters continue to cast ballots in New York

A new statewide database of registered voters contains as many as 77,000 dead people on its rolls, and as many as 2,600 of them have cast votes from the grave....

You seemed to conveniently overlook this quote from the article.

"Typically, records of votes by the dead are the result of bookkeeping errors and do not mean any extra ballots were actually cast."

But wait, there's more!

"In most cases, instances of dead voters can be attributed to database mismatches and clerical errors. For instance, the Social Security Administration admits there are people in its master death index who are not dead.

They include Wappingers Falls resident Hilde Stafford, an 85-year-old native of Germany. The master index lists her date of death as June 15, 1997.

"I'm still alive," she said. "I still vote."

Sounds to me like this is much ado about nothing.

I think e. nonee has a point: we really shouldn't worry about a few dead voters when the much greater danger is from the hordes of zombies who will be voting this November.

Hey, let as many dead people vote as you want, in Ohio at least. Here our clever, covert, double secret Republican operatives have rigged the election any way. I'm voting (primarily Republican) just to assure that a few real votes are cast. :-)

Moose, you live in Alabama. You should have heard enough stories from that state about vote counters running down to the cemeteries to enlist aid from the dead. I certainly have. And, it's not like this is the only study on this issue.

If there are only 2,600 dead voters going to the polls, then that should still be a concern, as that is enough to swing an election--especially since 4/5 of them are in Democratic districts.

P.S. This entry is tagged "humor" and "elections."

I don't see any "tags" or "categories" listed in the post. I just checked twice to make sure. Had I seen something that said "humor" on it then I probably would have just ignored it and moved on.

Moose, that is an excellent point, I'll have to look into how to get the tags on the post... but you still shouldn't "move on" you should read everything we post. :-)

Despite my suspicions being aroused by such knowledge, it is true that moose has a point. No blood, no foul.
