Westboro Baptist Church: Non Islamic Islamofascists?
In Iran they HATE GAYS and hang them from cranes. In Iraq under Saddam Hussein they threw them from buildings. In Saudi Arabia gays are beheaded or stoned to death. In fact, one of the most virulent anti-homosexual people in the world are the islamofascists who rule in Iran and Saudi Arabia.
You are probably thinking why am I including Saudi Arabia in with other islamofascists. It is simple; because Saudi Arabia supports and spreads the Wahabi sect of Islam. I totally discount their so called alliance with the west as they actively work to bring down their allies.
But, I digress. Islamofascists do not support human rights, and they use their perverted thinking to support the murder of homosexuals. Oddly enough, in this they have their own supporters in this country, CAIR for one. C.A.I.R. who immediately objects to anyone saying anything negative about Islamic culture, even if it is true (especially when it's true...ed.). Another group actively supporting the anti-homosexual agenda of the islamofascists is, counter-intuitively, a supposedly Christian church, the Westboro Baptist Church headed by one Fred Phelps, a vile creature who was once disbarred for badgering a witness and calling her a "slut" apparently because as a court reporter, she didn't get him a transcrapt soon enough, he sued her for 22K or some largish amount. As it turned out, the lack of transcripts had no effect on the trial he needed them for. Not a nice man this Mr. Phelps.
His daughter was recently on Fox news defending her schtick!
Shirley Phelps-Roper (and no, I'm NOT related to this poor excuse for a Christian) comes off as a harridan who is in perfect alignment with the islamofascists. In fact, their history is one supporting fascists such as Saddam Hussein:
In 2003, before the fall of Saddam Hussein during the Iraq War, Phelps wrote Hussein a letter praising his regime for being, in his opinion, "the only Muslim state that allows the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to be freely and openly preached on the streets."[30] Furthermore, he stated that he would like to send a delegation to Baghdad to "preach the Gospel" for one week. Hussein granted permission, and a group of WBC congregants traveled to Iraq to protest against the U.S. The parishioners stood on the streets of Baghdad and heavily patronized Baghdad establishments holding signs condemning Bill and Hillary Clinton and anal sex.As well as supporting Fidel Castro:
Phelps has repeatedly championed Fidel Castro for Castro's stance against homosexuality; in 1998 Harper's magazine published a letter Phelps sent to Castro in which he praised Castro and lambasted the U.S. In 2004, when a pro-homosexual Cuban refugee announced plans to travel to Cuba, Phelps sent another letter to Castro "warning" him of the man's plans and requesting travel visas for a group of WBC congregants so that they could follow the refugee around Havana with signs bearing anti-U.S. and anti-homosexual slogans. Castro also ignored that appeal."
It is quite odd to hear "Our Lord Jesus Christ" coming from those mouths. I've always been taught that Christ was love. I've always been taught that all of us are God's children. It is obvious that an non-Islamic fascist such as Phelps and his followers could grow up in this great land and not learn that lesson.
Hey Mr. Phelps (I've known Reverands, They have been my friends and my relatives and you sir are no Reverand!), my late brother in law was gay, and he was more of a man than you could ever hope to be.

GM - you know that getting this worked up is not good for you, but I guess that this is at least reason enough to be upset. Personally, I would call on EVERY SINGLE CHRISTIAN IN THE COUNTRY to PUBLICLY denounce this "church" and PUBLICLY profess that these people are NOT Christians, but are in stead terrorists. Maybe once these people start seeing their fame turn to disdain they will simply GO AWAY! If not, maybe once they are greeted by THOUSANDS (not a hundred or so) of PATRIOTS who WILL NOT let them dishonor a fallen hero, they will FINALLY get the message. Sorry for the yelling, I am just a bit worked up my self tonight.
BTW - TWO WEEKS W/O A CIGARETTE AND COUNTING!!!!!

So now it's a war to liberate homosexuals, is it. Is suppose that's alright, so long as it is a war. Who are we supposed to be killing this time around?

Jape, as usual, you have completely missed the point in your halfassed attempts at japery. However, I know that you have a difficult time with concepts complex so I will simplify this one so that even you can understand.
This is about hatred. Specifically the hatred of the Westboro congregation and their vile protesting behaviors at funerals of soldiers (and planned, but cancelled protest at the funerals of those little Amish girls).
Your attempts at ridicule are not only preposterous, but no more accurate than most of the left leaning anti-conservative scat found on the internet.

I've read several news reports concerning Phelps and his followers. I've heard him and his daughter interviewed at separate times on the radio. Sean Hannity interviewed his daughter. Sean gave her hell, so much so that she eventually hung up on him.
These are truly sick people who have bastardized Christianity and decency itself.

It would seem that Phelps and his followers are playing the media, and the public, for all its worth, and I suspect that its been worth a lot.
Under the guise of being a "church", Phelps and company are raking in the money. The left-wing fringe crowd loves Phelps, and what better way to attract left-wing fringe followers than to start showing up at funerals of dead soldiers. The media covers it all out of proportion, but the publicity attracts all of those new followers, which incidentally, all have money in their pockets ... so I suspect that its been very financially beneficial to Phelps and company to be doing just what they're doing.
Was it P.T. Barnum that said that "there's one born every minute"?

They give Christians a really bad name and yes they are radical Christians. Beside that they are fanatics, crazy, evil, mean spirited, and a real threat. I would not put violence past them in the future. Crazies like that eventually act out. The two hag sisters are lawyers. You can stop laughin now...

You know what? There is a lot of things that Conservatives and Liberals can actually agree on, and maybe even support each other.
I, a certificated liberal, agree with every sentimate you express in this posting.
There shouldn't be any compromise on this, but if things tuen out as I would hope in the congressional elections, perhaps compromise may be attempted.
I read a defination of compromise somewhere: "Compromise is when neither party gets what it wants". But as I remarked in another comment, this nation was built on compromise. Long may it stand

This is so very awful. No, despite what they claim, these people aren't Christians. I could use Islamic terminology all I want to, but it won't make me a Muslim. Terrorists, possibly, hostis humani generis definitely. The Holy Bible is not a manual for a hate crusade against anyone, let alone homosexuals. And to defile Christ's message of God's love for us in the way they do makes me want to cry for them. As it is, I will pray. Mind you, as the flawed human being I am, I'll be praying that it's in God's Plan they be stricken mute and paralysed, and that they be plagued by boils. The thing that confuses me is: why homosexuals? There are so many other proscriptions in the Holy Bible, why not eaters of owl, or those who covet their neighbors' sheep? What burning, tortured demon is boiling Fred Phelps' innards that he's latched onto this as his Cause d'Etre? I liked her disgust at the Patriot Riders - doesn't everyone think the spewing of black bile and evil imprecations at hapless innocents and grieving family members the best way to blow off a little steam and have a little lark? People need to stop giving them airtime, now.

Smokey, I would prefer even more for Christians to ignore them at this point. They have been denounced often enough, and they seem to feed on it.
There is this idea they have that if the entire nation would just get right with God and hate the same things Phelps does, prosperity and joy would descend upon us all. There is too much of this in American churches to begin with, but these folks are way out even on that slender limb. What previous examples of nations trying this are they imagining as their evidence? It's a fallen world, and we make the best accommodation we can to contain evil (and even that ignores where I disagree with them about sins). Stamping our feet and believing in a fantasy world REAL HARD doesn't change a thing.
There are some persecuted believers from Romania I would like to introduce them to...

From what I've read, Mr. Phelps's "church" is comprised almost entirely of members of Phelps' family and extended family, over whom he exerts cult-like control. Those who have successfully escaped his control denounce him. Phelps, a disbarred lawyer, has two major passions: filing lawsuits and a monomaniacal hatred of gays. He revels in the public spotlight. He is as representative of Christianity as was Jim Jones.
His ilk is not worthy of anger, just utter abhorance -- and sympathy with his victims.

GM,
Sorry, if future I'll be careful to express outrage and disgust before pointing out your consistently high war fever and questioning your motives.

JJ, again, your attempts at japery have again completely fallen short of the mark. Let me say again, in terms that you can clearly understand providing you are 1. relatively sober 2. reasonably intelligent and 3 not being just plain ole troll-ish!
This was about a supposedly christian sect that is so anti-homosexual that they are blind to anything else. This is about spreading hate, not love, hate just like the islamofascists, who, by the bye are followers of Mohammad. These folks say they are followers of the Christ. yet, in many respects they share the same belief system.
They are vile creatures masquarading as patriotic Americans etc. Jape, you need to get a life and go back to your blog.
