9-11 Memorials: Left Lacks Class

To people on the Left, it's okay to abandon dignity and decorum in any situation to promote their radical political philosophies. If you don't like it, too bad, because they intend to force it down your throats, anyway. But, they prefer to do it in secret until it's too late to change, and they've done it again and will do it again without decent people remaining diligent.

They did this with the memorial at ground zero and they pulled it off with the just dedicated 9-11 memorial in Arizona. The Left used a memorial on 9-11 to make political attacks against President Bush and the war on terror. Here are some samples of inscriptions on the newly dedicated 9-11 memorial:

“You don’t win battles of terrorism with more battles.”
“Congress questions why CIA and FBI didn’t prevent attacks.”
“Erroneous US air strike kills 46 Uruzgan civilians.”

You do see how those inscriptions serve to be memorials to our nation and the 9-11 victims, don't you? Well, if you do, you're doing better than me.

An approving commission member stated that the inscriptions were factual, and therefore acceptable, as determined by an Arizona State University history professor, presumed to be Dr Noel J. Stowe. These "factual" statments include the just mentioned "You don’t win battles of terrorism with more battles.” Is that a fact, an opinion, or did he really not review each statement?

How do others feel? Well, here's two takes on it, and I'll allow you to guess which approves and which does not.

Just once, I would like the Left to show some class and quit injecting their radical politics into every situation, no matter how inappropriate or unrelated. I might as well wish for a billion dollars. It's too bad for society and a blow to dignity and civility, which they never had. Just continue to watch them to stop similar attempts in the future.

The left continues to navigate trackless land without the use of a moral compass. (Or something like that.) They can't separate memoralizing innocent victims and fallen heros from making their own political statements. Of course, it's really all about them making their statements, not the memory of 9/11.

I love the spokeswoman's statement, it is " unique, bold, educational and un-forgettable,” . Uniquienss has no intrinsic value, neither does bold, the primary educational value will be to show the insensivity and self-centeredness of the left, their stupidity will be un-forgettable.

Spot on. The Left has no class. That explains much---its clothing, its hygiene, its manners, its language, its vulgarity. And it cannot but inject politics into everything. Politics is all it has. Politics is the drug and the god of the Left, both the American version and the international one.

Very well summarized, Mike.

Here's another link regarding the monument controversy and providing more in-depth commentary:

"They can't separate memoralizing innocent victims and fallen heros from making their own political statements."

That says it all. Even one liberal Kos commentor admits his liberal credentials but had this to say:

"Like I said, I'm a natural enemy of the LGF-types... but from the pictures I've seen, this memorial seems ham-handed. There may be good impulses behind it, but my gut says it's ultimately a little too coy about it specifically being a memorial for the 9-11 victims. To generalize about them too much, with such wide and ambitious context, dims the tribute to the people who died that day."

The interesting thing is that ChenZhen is so busy sniping and sneering at conservative bloggers he doesn't defend the memorial himself nor does he make the slightest attempt to explain the liberal mindset that produced such a "memorial" and what it's supposed to mean that we neanderthals "just don't get". And neither does anyone else in the comments.

Today, I heard a radio interview that discussed the substantial financial contributions that these "impartial" 9-11 commission members had given to the Democrats. What a surprise.

WOW, this is what "The pot calling the kettle black" looks like.

James, what conservatives have tried to take over 9-11 memorial commissions and taint the memorials with political attacks against another party and western civilization in general?
