Her most recent books were so rabidly racist that even Christopher Hitchens (who constantly harps on the dangers of "Islamofascism") wrote (in The Atlantic) that The Rage and the Pride was "a sort of primer in how not to write about Islam."

Of course you like Oriana's work on Islam since it mirros your own paranoid and deluded fantasies. The first time i encountered you at Coopers you claimed that half of all American Muslims believe in death for apostacy. forgetting the slightly inconveninet fact that according to a recent poll of american muslims, the bulk of them dont even attend mosque, this supposed "fact" was a complete fiction dreamed up in the universe of your depraved fantasies of Neanderthral Muslims. You later apologized but you get my point. Listen, as a much younger man I discovered her writing and was so fascniated by her brilliant, informed and combatative style that I dreamed that one day, too, I would become a journalist. That said I've watched in despair in recent years Fallaci moved sharply to the right, and became an obsessive, xenophobic racist, producing three short, incendiary post-9/11 books -- two of them, “The Rage and the Pride� and “The Force of Reason". Again I say this as someone who has vigorously opposed religious fundementalism and violence of all kinds. I've lived in Europe and been connected to the multi layed and complex muslim communities people like Fallaci rant about. Let me say, with authority, that there is an immense gap between here representations and reality. Her paranoid world-view led her to ask whether all Islamic immigrants to the West had their transport paid by "some Osama bin Laden for the mere purpose of establishing the Reverse Crusade's settlements and better organizing Islamic terrorism." But you probably buy this nonsense anyway
