Democratic Underground: Delusional or Just Plain Mean?
Last night, Kenneth Lay, disgraced CEO of Enron died of a massive coronary. So, he escapes the prison sentence he surely would have been sentenced to. I feel sorry for his family, their grief is entirely understandable and I know what it is like to lose a spouse.
On the radio this morning however, I heard some stuff about comments being made on the Democratic Underground and I was (but maybe shouldn't have been) astounded that "civilized people" would make these kinds of comments. So, taking a dose of anti-biotics and a tranquilizer to steel myself I went there and found some of the following "messages" on the death of Ken Lay.
Quick, get a WOODEN STAKE and a Hammer"Oh, that's real reminiscent of the compassion of so called liberals.
So, maybe Linda offed Kenny Boy so that the money would be tied up in an estate?"Or maybe he had a heart attack plain and simple... he was 64 years old.
Will George Bush be giving the eulogy? After all, Enron financed his theft of the White House."Some delusional people still can't get over loosing in 2000.
Why would you induse a heart attack? When you can just OD on sleeping pills, I don't think it was intentional, this man is a coward and fraud, he wouldn't put himself throught the pain of a heart attack."Nor would this commenter learn how to spell induce. But, I'm more curious as to how this commenter knew Lay was a coward? A crook perhaps, he was convicted after all, but a coward?
I have to wonder if Cheney had him killed. Lay knew where a lot of bodies are buried."Oh gads, the delusional system in this fellow is full blown. Next he will have either Rove or Lay behind a grassy knoll in Dallas in November, 1963.
I think Lay has been moved to an undisclosed location... I'm sorry. I just don't buy it. He was too in with cheney and *. They gave Kenney Boy his own Independence Day.That's because you spend way too much time in places like the Democratic Underground where this kind of stuff runs rampant. At the same time I hate that I've become so cynical and distrusting of the powers that be that I can't whole-heartedly accept this story."
Bush will have to put him on display like Uday & Qasay. Did he have any metal plates in his bones like Uday, or a pacemaker or something we could pull out to verify it's him?"Gadzooks, the ghouls are out early and it's not even close to Halloween. Pull out to verify? OMG!
And on the same sick line:
I want to see DNA, fingerprints, dental records, etc. I just don't buy that he is dead. Way, way, too, convenient."Perhaps a sample of bodily fluids would do for this fellow.
OK, that is enough, what with chemo-therapy and the DU, my nausea tolerance is way down... just can't take any more of these nutcases.

You took one for the team....

O.M.G.
These people have totally LOST it GM. They are beyond hope. Delusional isn't a word I would use to describe them. Wow.
Paranoid, pathetic, pitiful. I wish we could help these people because they really need it. Is there a mental illness here?

Wow.
The 'compassion' of these people brings me to tears.
Can't wait to have you on Total Kaos to discuss the relationship between these asshasts lack of personal responsibility and their need for conspiracy.

That's why I rarely RARELY go into the cesspool that is the DU - or even the one called the DailyPOS. The few times I've risked contamination, it's always been in disbelief - "Oh, they can't really be saying that, can they?" - only to be astounded at the vileness that runs rampant through those sewers of human asshattery.
GM, don't waste your time, and don't torment your blood pressure that way.
Remember Philippians 4:8 -
"whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. "
DU and POS are NONE of these things.

I found this tidbit interesting:
Under precedents set by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, a defendant is not technically ruled guilty until the person has been sentenced and has exhausted the appeals process, lawyers said.
Since Lay died before his sentencing and appeal, the conviction does not stand, and the financial claim by the government will not proceed, they said.
"I think it's pretty clear the conviction will be abated," Michael Wynne, a former federal prosecutor now in private practice said.
I was not a defender of Lay's, but I do enjoy watching the liberals go nuts over this--and especially with the fact that his conviction will be wiped out.

Liberal forums are usually filled with that kind of stuff. It's great for conservatives, because when someone of sound mind, neutral or middle-of-the-road political circles surfs into something like that and sees what goes through the minds of the left, we've got us another conservative.
I got a kick out of the back of the jacket on Michelle Malkin's book, "Unhinged", where she has "Unhinged liberal praise for Michelle Malkin" and lists a whole bunch of things liberals have said about her, much of it racist, ALL of it far beyond anything I've ever heard a conservative say as far as viciousness or un-PC is concerned.
Liberals are everything they'd like people to falsely believe conservatives are.

A friend of a friend has said that she believes that he's not really dead, either. Her belief is that because he had a heart condition, he should have had a heart attack when he got connvicted. Now that he was just relaxing and waiting for sentencing, he shouldn't have had one.

G.M., our friend Michael Balter wrote this comment about Ken Lay this morning: I laughed out loud with pleasure when he died.... I don't remember him saying that he laughed out loud when Zarqawi was killed. Businessmen, all of them in the eyes of the left, are a bigger threat to them than are terrorists, I guess.

No wonder the Left has so much in common with the death-cult of Islam. I see common ground here.
