Brief Note On G.M.'s Recovery
G.M. continues his recovery from surgery to remove cancer. Norma, his wife, has posted comments about his progress on the previous update, which you can find here.
Despite a collapsed lung today, things look better and G.M. is expected to out of intensive care tomorrow. Chemotherapy may begin within two weeks. There is one positive piece of information and a correction to something previously relayed, due to some miscommunication by the surgeon to the family. Rather than removing the entire left lung, only part of it had to be taken. That will certainly cut down on the recovery period and provide a more normal life going forward for G.M. Plus, by leaving half of the lung, I'm sure that the doctor's bill will be half. Keep fighting, G.M.! We miss you and can't wait for your return. (Expecially since I don't know what I'm doing with the adminstration of the site, have accidentally deleted track-backs, and can't set up new authors. Other than that, I'm doing great!)
I was very lucky and most honored to spend about 30 minutes with G.M. this afternoon. He looked very much better than I expected. His handshake was firm and the sparkle was in his eye. He, never one to whine or moan, just gave me a short brief on his condition and then most politely, as is his usual M.O., asked my about what I was doing and such. Pluck and Grit are, doubtless, on his family crest.
I am confident that he will soon be firing his very well researched and very clever rounds across the bows of the Loopy Loser Lefties in the near future.
Press On, G.M. Besides, if you take too long in the recovery mode, Woody and the rest of the second string....just kidding, put down those brickbats!...will turn GM's Corner into a very disorganized mess. Hah.

Tad, give us more credit. I think we've done a pretty good job of turning this into a disorganized mess in a very short time. When we're finished it will have to be renamed G.M.'s Basement.

I am going to recommend that GM make you a Grand Master in the Most Excellent Order of Really Funny Guys (silk cordon with semi tarnished brass insignia affixed).
Kidding aside, you've done a great job and I am sure GM and his, and your, many fans appreciate your efforts.

All the 2nd string is doing a great job here. It must be especially difficult to keep things running when the focus obviously is on GM's situation.
Glad to hear the the 'main man' is doing better after this major surgery. Thanks for the update.

The bullpen is doing great. And it looks like you got a real nice quilt coming your way.
So that's what you gotta do to get a quilt these days...doesnt seem fair.
