Murtha's "Metamorphosis" Meme of MSM Merits Mockery
Much has been written regarding US Representative John Murtha, a Pennsylvania Democrat, "sudden" change of heart and his call for withdrawal from Iraq. Indeed he has caused an untold amount of angst among those who support the war because Murtha has always been considered a Hawk on matters military. Murtha is a retired Marine Corps colonel who received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts in the "unpleasantness" in Vietnam. Murtha, however inspite of the gasps from the MSM is not saying anything new. Moonbat Pelosi:
Congressman Murtha made a compelling case about what has gone wrong in Iraq. For too long, the Bush Administration's approach to bringing stability to Iraq has relied on U.S. troops taking almost all the risks"... September 16, 2003Or, how about this:
If congressional Democrats do start exerting some leverage over the administration, they may have John Murtha to thank. The 30-year House veteran is a hawkish defense expert who supported the Iraq war and is known for working with Republicans on military issues. His remarks last week were especially dramatic because Murtha is known as a low-key operator who rarely speaks in public. [yeah, except this article was written in mid MAY, 2004His vote on valiant service of US troops: "Voted NO on approving removal of Saddam & valiant service of US troops. (Mar 2004)"
Oh yes, Murtha has been a hawk all right. Not! He has been a hero, he has been on the right committees, he has been a vocal supporter of the military often, he has been a partisan Democrat all along. So, the MSM is either trying to dupe us on Murtha's change of heart thinking we are stupid; or they are too stupid to look up where he has been since March '03. I think its the former, don't you?
“Unlike our Pres, our Vice-Pres, the Sec of State - Jack Murtha knows combat.†[ doubtless from a Dem in tonights debate ] "Yeah, so do the 150,000 troops in Iraq right now. And unlike the weenies in Congress, they have balls, courage, honor, and conviction of purpose." - Kit Jarrell comment at 1906 hours (7:06 PM for the civilians in here)
I've listened to the Dems castigate the Republicans in the debates because the Repubs had the temerity to essentially say put up or shut up. Pelosi (Moonbat, California) states that she has requested all of her caucus to vote for the resolution since it differs from Murthas in the timespan (murtha said ASAP in 6 months or so) the Repubs called his bluff and ok, you want out, let's vote on "immediately." So, the upshot is the dems are castigating the resolution, but for political purposes the dems will vote for it so they don't seem that they are saying pull out now, which of course is what most of them are saying but they can't say it out loud because they will look like the fools that they are. Well, at this stage of the game, they have been hoist on their own petard. Serves the bastards right.
Gateway Pundit has a hell of a lot more.
