Michael Jackson - White singer beats rap--and hip hop
California juries are known for innocent verdicts of prominent and, likely, guilty people. (Well, that is if you really think O.J. and Robert Blake were guilty.) Now, we have Michael Jackson who is at least guilty of being very weird. Last night David Letterman took the verdicts to the next logical step when he said, "This just in…Saddam Hussein wants his trial moved to Santa Maria, California." Why not? Well, here's the top ten list:
Top Ten Things Overheard During The Michael Jackson Verdict
10. "We the jury find the defendant not guilty--oh God, did I say the wrong one?"
9. "Of course he's nervous--look how pale he is"
8. "Will Mr. Blake and Mr. Simpson please keep the laughter down?"
7. "No, I think he'll do fine in prison"
6. "I'm a celebrity in an L.A. courtroom--I like my chances"
5. "Do you think this'll be on the news tonight?"
4. "We the jury find the defendant creepy"
3. "Michael, good news--I just saved 15 percent on my car insurance by switching to Geico"
2. "Wait, have Tito, Latoya and Jermaine always been on the jury?"
1. "Another case of a white guy getting preferential treatment."
Well, I personally think that Jackson had committed some improper acts with boys, but the State of California failed to adequately prove its cases. What were the odds? Finally, now will people quit letting their kids sleep overnight with Jackson?
With Michael Jackson back at the Neverland Ranch, he has a new strategy for dealing with boys who want to leave. Here's the site where you can learn more and help with his "drag net." "Neverland Ranch"
Have fun--and, sharpen your aim.

What amazes me is the constant badgering that he had an "all white" jury. Makes one imagine a bunch of 60 y/o white males with their white robes neatly folded in their laps. Not concientious Americans trying to do the right thing. And Jackson HAS no peers anyway.

The decision is good news for those fasely convicted and don't have the resources Jackson has to get a good defense:

How on earth can it be good news that a wealthy popsinger of questionable gender had sufficient resources to beat the charges? I would think it would be bad news that they didn't get the same highpowered defense that Jackson could afford. And no, I'm not commenting on guilt or innocence of Jackson, the jury spoke to that issue and having spoken, we must accept that verdict. That is the way our court system works.
What it may be bad news for, is Jackson, which parent is now going to allow their children to sleep over?

It's fantastic news. I mean, if you were Bernard Baran and you saw that even Jackson couldn't get a NG verdict in this silly case, what hope would be left for freedom after spending half your life in jail for false accusations of molestation?
Look at the Boston Phoenix story I sent GM, you'll see what I mean?

Where do people get that wierd idea about pedophilia being on the rise in the US or outta control? Seems almost paranoiac, a confirmation that media hysteria can really translate into individual level hysteria.
