Future History?

June 14, 2011
(Paris-United Eurabia) Since the Caliphate was established in Eurabia in 2009, and the War On Infidels (WOI) won, a number of war criminals have been brought to justice at the International Court of the Hague. To date, the heads of the former Governments of the so-called "European Union" were taken into custody following a fierce uprising of former Arabs who, with careful planning, were situated in key points in Eurabia. Chirac, Schroeder, Villapin, were tried, found guilty of Anti-Islamic hatred and executed by beheading.
Currently, the war in England continues apace with the English government in exile retreating to Scotland. The rest of the so-called British Isles are firmly in the hands of our beloved Jihadists aided by our brothers who infiltrated England over many years. Tony Blair is reportedly holed up in a cave in Scotland, but will soon be found, tried, found guilty and executed.
In America, we are fully in control of New England and most of the east cost, Washington D.C. and a good part of the Floridian Peninsula. Our beloved Jihadists are firmly in control in the former states of Washington, Oregon and California. Despite a strong and implacable foe waging an illegal guerilla war in southern California, there is no doubt that we will be victorious.
Elsewhere, New Madrasses have been established in Moscow, Krakow, Warsaw, Budapest, Vienna, Rome, Madrid and London. Each new Madrass is charged with teaching the young the glories of Islam and the joy's of martyrdom and enlisting their help in the war against the infidels.
In the remaining portion of the United States, we continue to use their internal laws against them and to date, CAIR and the Islamic Council have brought suits against the majority of State Governors for hate crimes in that they have denounced Islam and have desecrated the Holy Qu’ran.
Prisoners captured in the WOI are routinely converted to Islam or beheaded. The savings in food, the number of guards needed etc is significant and frees up money to fight the infidel.
New York City has continued to have decontamination teams eradicating the radioactivity following the successful bombing of Wall Street with a small tactical device delivered by our brothers in Iran.
Last week, the blasphemer Salmon Rushdie was surrounded in a villa off the coast of Sardinia but shot himself in the head 5 times before he could be captured. May his stomach roast in the fires of hell forever.
The Islamic Council continues to search for the remains of the former President Jimmy Carter, accidentally immolated during our successful drive on Americus, Georgia. When found, he will be enshrined in Mecca for all the services rendered in closing the so-called prison camp Guantanimo.
We continue to offer rewards for the heads of former President GWBush and President Hillary Clinton and doubtless, they will be found in the fullness of time.
Recent offers by the Gang of Fourteen to negotiate a cease-fire have been rejected because we have decided that their leader, John McCain has reportedly some Jewish blood in him. The trees and stones have called out for his death.
Next week, another report on the war against the infidels.
Until then, this is Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf: The Iraqi Minister of Information Reporting.
This is some stunning possible future. I'm surely dead... or in deep hiding with my family in the Western Maryland/WVa mountains somewhere near Harper's Ferry...

EXCELLENT. Let's hope, in the end, that you are endowed with an active imagination rather than a keen sense of events to come.

Have a feeling GM just watched `Red Dawn' last night :)
Posted by jim hitchcock at June 14, 2005 09:11 PM
No, but it was a pretty good flick.
Mustang, you have no idea how much I'm hoping for the former, but watching those who are not taking the WOT seriously and show that they consistently do not understand the enemy... I'm afraid it might be the latter.

Get a grip, GM :) Not even in an alternate universe. Terrorists never win. Particularly not territory.
Posted by jim hitchcock at June 14, 2005 10:07 PM
Jim, really? And the founding of the USSR? Israel? Iraq? Yugoslavia(and it's disolution)? how about Congo or Ethiopia? Oh, and pray tell what happened to Rhodesia? ;-)
Sorry, couldn't resist....
Yes Jim, sometimes they do win, sometimes, the cause is pretty just as in Israel and South Africa, but terrorism is a political act to bring about a change in the form of government. Ask the pro-republic folks who were anti-bautista in Cuba and then were butchered by Che and company?
"Revolutionarys" often (though not always) use terrorism. That makes them terrorists and the government they founded become that agent of terrorism too often.
Posted by GM Roper at June 14, 2005 10:38 PM
Well, just to take Russia as an example, you had two armies, the Whites and the Reds. Red Terror was
started as a response to White terror.
For terrorists to win, they have to have a large segment of popular support on their side. That could never happen here. In Iraq, it could, were we to leave suddenly. We can only hope Iraq can eventually build a better security force than, say, the ARVN's. One as efficient as Saddam's, without the terror tactics.

Jeez, GM, how do you manage to pose as such a reasonable fellow on Marc Cooper's blog when there is this bilious and deranged swill runnning around in your head the whole time?
Posted by Mork at June 16, 2005 03:22 AM
I think it is safe to say that Mork doesn't think that this is one possible future history. But billious and deranged swill? Hmmm, how is it that someone who is so off the wall at Marc Cooper's blog can not see the value of fiction in a "conservative's" blog? Oh, wait, silly question.
Posted by GM Roper at June 16, 2005 06:44 AM
Personally, I'd define `bilious and deranged swill' as Olde English 400.

"And the founding of the USSR? "
wow, the word terrorist has lost so much meaning that even a popular revolution becomes 'terrorism'...

The Russian Revolution was a "popular" revolt, that put in a democratic government. Following which, the communists under Lenin used terrorism as a tactic and ousted the government. A time line:
1917 June 3 First All-Russia Congress of Workers and Soldiers Soviets opens.
1917 June 18 Offensive launched by Russia against Austria Hungary.
1917 July The July Days. (3rd and 4th) Workers and soldiers in Petrograd demand the Soviet takes power. Sporadic fighting results and the Soviet restores order with troops brought back from the front. Trotsky arrested. Lenin goes into hiding. A new provisional government is set up with Kerensky at it's head (8th).
1917 July 12th Death Penalty reintroduced for the front.
1917 Aug The Kornilov putsch. An attempt by General Kornilov to establish a right wing dictatorship is a disastrous flop. Chernov the leader of the Socialist Revolutionaries resigns from the government denouncing Kerensky for complicity in the plot.
1917 Sept The Bolsheviks win control of the Petrograd Soviet.
In the countryside peasant seizure of land from the gentry continues and reaches the level of near insurrection in Tambov.
1917 Oct The Bolsheviks overthrow the Provisional government on the eve of the meeting of 2nd All-Russia Congress of Soviets.
1917 26/27 Oct Soviet proclamations on land and peace. Death Penalty abolished.
1917 30 Oct Kerensky repulsed outside Petrograd
1917 2 Nov Bolsheviks gain Moscow
1917 7th Nov Ukraine proclaimed independent by the Central Rada.
1917 Nov 12-14 Elections to the Constituent Assembly. Socialist Revolutionaries the largest party.
1917 12 Dec Left-SRs join Sovnarkom
1917 Dec (early) Congress of Socialist Revolutionaries results in victory for the left under Chernov. Likewise Menshevik Congress gives victory to Martov's Menshevik internationalists.
1918 Jan 5th The Constituent Assembly in which the Bolsheviks are a minority meets for one day before being suppressed. Earlier that day a demonstration is fired on by Bolshevik units and several demonstrators are killed
1918 10-18 Jan 3rd Soviet Congress
1918 Jan 28th Trotsky denounces the German Peace Terms as unacceptable and walks out of the peace negotiations at Brest- Litovsk.
1918 Feb 1/14 Russia adopts Western (Gregorian) calendar.
1918 Feb 18th The Germans invade Russia which is all but defenceless as virtually the entire army has deserted.
1918 March The Bolsheviks accept the dictated peace of Brest-Litovsk. The Left SRs denounce the peace and leave the government.
1918 April 12th Moscow headquarters of the anarchists surrounded and attacked by Bolshevik troops
1918 May 9th Bolshevik troops open fire on workers protesting at food shortages in the town of Kolpino
1918 May (late) The Czechoslovak legion mutinies against the Bolshevik government. Using the railways they are able to sweep away Bolshevik control from vast areas of Russia. The Socialist Revolutionaries support the rising.
1918 July Fifth Soviet Congress. The left SRs assassinate the German ambassador and are in turn crushed by the Bolsheviks.
1918 16 July Gorky’s Novaia Zhizn , the last opposition paper, banned.
Yes, terrorism established the USSR.

you forgot the little part about a popular revolution that was immediately under attack from the world's most powerful capitalist powers determined to make development in the early post-revolutionary period as hellish as possible, no?
Posted by steve at June 17, 2005 10:07 AM
No steve, I didn't forget, it did'nt happen. Oh, I know that the communists claimed that the capitalist powers tried to dismantle it, but that was for local consumption immediately following the revolution so that the population (who were beginning to get discouraged with the communists) would think it's "us against the world" and band together for the good of Mother Russia... That's as I remember my Russian History professor in college describing it... and he was sympathetic to the communists but thought them really good at internal propoganda. In fact, they had so much luck at the propaganda table, there are still those on the left stating that Communism would have worked had not the west conspired against them. :-)
