Axis Of The Illogical Logic
Bill Rogio over at The Fourth Rail has a terrific post up regarding Mike Whitney writing at the Axis of The Illogical Logic in which said Mr. Whitney extols the virtues of the Iraqi "insurgency" and destroys Whitney's arguments with REAL LOGIC, something that seems to escape the Axis of Illogic. A sample:
"It should be noted that al Qaeda is a foreign presence in Iraq that is attempting to influence the internal affairs of Iraqis. This simple fact should be obvious to Mr. Whitney or anyone that writes for a web site that presumptuously calls itself the “Axis of Logicâ€ÂÂ. No doubt Mr. Whitney believes the final line of Abu Asaid Al-Iraqi's rant excludes him and members of the antiwar movement. As useful idiots to al Qaeda their blood would be exempt from the sword. Perhaps he is not aware of the death of Marla Ruzicka at the hands of a suicide bomber or the fate of Margaret Hassan, the antiwar aid worker murdered and dismembered by the “freedom fighters†of Iraq."Read the whole thing, it is absolutely priceless. It is one thing to loathe war; any sane person does. As I have said before, war should be avoided when other means can be used to resolve problems. When people actively support the enemy’s cause, then it is no longer an “anti-War†movement, it is providing aid and comfort to the enemy. Whether Mike Whitney is simply too dumb to realize what he is doing is something that should be evaluated by the FBI.

Pity this isn't the Middle Ages. We'd just sling him over the castle wall. Yes, yes, I know, most would have done far worse things.
Speaking of which, though is hardly considered "fashionable" or even intelligent, still there is a certain clarity about "love it or leave it."
To a degree a clever society has lots of ideas in its' marketplace. The ideas compete and the best one wins. However, history has taught, whether we've learned or not, that this is not always the case. See Hitler, Stalin, even Putin and scores of minor dictators around the world.
In our country, it seems that what passes for our intelligensia have elected to tear down all the things that were built up. I should amend this. I expect it is not all the intelligensia...but a goodly amount of them. They pray upon the fears, greed, and rank studipity of far too many.
One might ask just why they continue to live in a country they seem to despise. Many lads will die for what many believe are good and noble causes. The lads of the limo liberals will not.
Does one detect a note of bitterness herein? One should.

I haven't read the whole thing but from this post and the blurb reproduced I cannot help but wonder if the Axis of Logic fellow understands that the anti-war crowd's argument that the US Coalition should leave Iraq (in part) because they are interlopers applies equally to Al-Qaeda?
I suspect not.
