Jimmy Carter: "Kill the Wabbit"

Do you remember the episode when President Jimmy Carter was attacked by a killer rabbit--as documented in the picture below?

1979: Killer Rabbit Circles President in Boat Attack

Well, a lot of people made fun of Carter, but there is good news. A killer rabbit has been caught which may redeem the reputation of our former president. Click on this link and listen to our former commander in chief order the successful dispatch our enemy, which is shown captured in the next picture.

Ehhh, What's Up, Doc?

This won't win a peace prize, but can he have his reputation back?

"...can he have his reputation back?"

Uh, no!

Many years ago, my father told me that "If you cannot say something nice about someone, say nothing at all." Those were nice sentiments from a much nicer era....in most, though not all, respects.

For, at least, today my comments about Jimmy Carter follow:

G.M., I think that we can quit focusing on the petty issues surrounding Jimmy Carter and let him have his real reputation back. Here's a start....

You may be getting a letter from the WABBIT LEAGUE OF AMERICA announcing their intention to sue. The damage done to the weputation of wabbits, especially as we appwoach Easter, is incalulable.

Woody, OK, I'm convinced. His real reputation is as a gadabout who couldn't deal with the Iranian Crisis. On the other hand, maybe he was suffering from a four hundred plus day malaise!

I took a break from taxes and went to the Braves home opener tonight (Braves 5, Phillies 3). Guess who I saw sitting below me at the game. Yes, it was none other than President Carter and former first lady Roselyn. He reminded me of Jimmy Stewart in the play "Harvey," which was about the giant invisible rabbit that only he could see. Also, Carter did not do the tomahawk chop or the wave.

Final note... Does anyone know if this is true?

Tonight after the game we passed the state capitol and I mentioned to my friend that as stupid as Carter is, still he was elected governor and president. My friend asked if I knew how a kid from Plains, Ga could get an appointment to the Naval Academy and rise as a leader in the Democratic Party.

Here's his story, for which we're searching for answers. He was told that Jimmy Carter's mother, Ms. Lillian, worked for Joseph Kennedy in Washington. She left and moved to Plains, where she quickly married and then delivered a child--a future president. The rumor is that she became pregnant by Joseph Kennedy and that, get this, Carter is Ted Kennedy's half-brother! That could go a long way into explaining Carter's rise to prominence--and mental disabilities.

I have no idea if this information is correct, but it's intriguing.

Just an odd note... I think that the creature involved in the Carter event was actually a nutria, also known as a swamp rat. These are large rodents, but I have no idea of their aggressiveness.

Other than that... Jimmy Carter deserves all the abuse one feels like dropping on him. He is a just as embarrassing a former president as he was a president. Still stupid as a rock, falling for the lies every two bit totalitarian on the planet.

John, as the close up of the photo shows, it is clearly a rabbit. It is also clearly swimming no where near in "attack mode." The Carter presidency was scared by a rabbit, no wonder it was scared by a mullah as well.

More detail of the rabbit story is here.

Nutrias have short, round ears. I know, I found one in my bathtub one night (still alive) that the cat dragged in.

At first I was thinking that perhaps you were talking about this rabbit. Run away! Run away!
