Three "Joisey" Marines
"If you're sleeping safely in your own bed tonight, thank those Marines from "Joisey."
Ralph Peters does the United States Marines proud:
September 3, 2007 -- FALLUJAH - Jersey rules. The Marines of 1st Platoon, Fox Company, 3rd Battal ion, 3rd Marines aren't living large, but they're making a huge difference. Bunking in a police precinct headquarters in Fallujah, they're at the forward edge of our current successes in Iraq.Read it all! It's summertime, but the living ain't easy. The work's tough, the heat's wicked, the "facilities" conjure the old line about what bears do in the woods, and only goodie boxes from home liven up a diet of field rations (great for two or three days, nasty after two or three months).
You'd expect complaints. I didn't hear one. And talking to three Jersey boys, I was surprised to hear just how positive they felt about the mission.
"I'd do it again in a heartbeat," Lance Cpl. Justin Blitzstein of West Milford told me. Self-assured and ready for anything, he added, "Anybody who doesn't think we should be here should see the difference we've made in the way these people live. And everybody here's a volunteer. We want to be here."

LTC Ralph Peters USA (Ret), a writer of fiction and non-fiction, has REALLY been around the world...and not staying in the four/five star digs...but in the hinterlands of many scary places. He knows more about real mil intell than any ten other folks. Most worthy of reading his stuff. Another good reporter who actually gets out into the villes vice staying in the Green Zone, is H. Thomas Smith Jr. Read their stuff for accuracy.
Note: Anyone that actually watches Katy Couric and her road show from Iraq this coming week is truly a pinhead. Does she know the difference between a Dumpster and a tank? An SSN and an SSBN? The only reason I even know of this "event" is that my bride was watching the U.S. Open on CBS. That is one thing they (CBS) cannot spin.
Salutes, of course, to OUR Marines.....and I might add that the Army is doing some very good work at the platoon, company, battalion level also. They are winning and the MSM are mostly not reporting it. The mind guys, like GM and others, will tell you why they will not, and cannot report it.
