Happy Birthday to the United States Army! UPDATED
By an act of Congress, June 14, 1775 What was then to become the United States Army was founded. Charged with protecting the then colonies, today the Army is a world wide fighting force that protects and projects freedom around the world.
So my friends, if you are reading this, thank a teacher. If you are reading this in English, thank a soldier!

Salutes, plaudits, accolades for all the Army has done for America, Americans...not to mention all kinds of countries and peoples around the world.
If one watched CNN and read the NYT all the time, you'd think the Army were nothing but really bad people. Not so! The vast majority have done so very, very much for the rest of us. We, truly, cannot thank them enough.
As I write, many, many soldiers are in harm's way. They are dirty, tired, away from home and putting their lives on the line. Would that all Americans knew how tough it is.
Congratz to Army.
