Global Warming from the Left
Just to be fair, here is an article which discusses gobal warming and current proposals from the left.
What's your take on it?
Feinstein takes aim at global warming
Environmentalists praise proposal targeting immediate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions
By Ian Hoffman, STAFF WRITER, Inside Bay Area
California's senior senator laid out a blueprint Monday for curbing global warming, the latest congressional proposal for turning greenhouse-gas pollution into a multibillion-dollar commodity in hope of doing away with it.Environmentalists gave generally good marks to Sen. Dianne Feinstein's new climate bill because they say it commits to immediate reductions in greenhouse gases, with an initial target of returning to 2006 levels of emissions by 2010 and making gentle but steady cuts totaling just more than 7 percent from then until 2020.
Feinstein pointed to signs of warming through-out the world, from more severe storms to masses of ice flowing into the oceans at the poles.
"The clock is ticking on global warming," she said in a statement. "If we do not slow, stop and reverse global warming soon, we will do irreparable harm to the world around us."
Maybe we should implement her proposals in California first and see how they work before we apply them to the rest of the nation.

Having lived there for several years it's one of a few states I hope to never visit again. Let the fools become even bigger fools and those with a pea size brain or more will leave the idiot state.

I was born in CA, as were my parents. My wife was born in CA, as was our only child. My fond memories of CA, as a youth, were really grand. One could hitch-hike without any fear. We all did. Most of men had been in WW II, either in uniform or as war workers. Of course, almost right after WW II, the boom commenced. Uncontrolled booms are bad enough, but where oh where did all those lefties come from? Not to mention the criminals, gangs, druggies, welfare cheats, and plain lack of courtesy? I know, you're saying this guy is remembering things through the tint of time. Maybe, that is partially true, but I was a newspaper boy, and thus saw the news everyday. I use to ride on the Greyhound bus to Oakland (alone), wait at that terminal for about an hour and then back on another bus to San Francisco to meet my Grandfather. I was nine years old. My Grandmother, widowed, was a member of the Odd-Fellows (now, who picked that name, and why?) and she would leave her apartment on one side of San Francisco and ride the various street cars (and number of transfers) to arrive at the "lodge" to play cards.
At about 2300 (11 pm for civilians), she'd reverse the process. She was never worried and she was never accosted. Can ANYONE do that today?
I lament the way things are vs where. Granted many things needed changing. And many things were, but we've seemed to throw out the baby with the bathwater. The lack of comity, community, "Americaness", shared values, etc. seems very much lower. Why?
Yep, you're right, I didn't address the question, but just felt compelled to stick this comment in.

Today I can claim the errors in punctuation and spelling are due to four days of sickness. Lost 14 lbs in four days. This is NOT the recommended way to lose weight. Ah, well. My illness is nothing compared to so many others. It was touchy in the ER for a while on Saturday night, but I think I will survive for a bit longer.

Wow, Tad. That's pretty serious. I'm glad that you're better and recovering. The Discovery Channel is showing "Forensic Detectives," a show where they investigate mysterious deaths and discover that the deceased had been slowly poisoned with arsenic or anti-freeze--usually by someone close to them. You are getting along with your wife, aren't you? Just asking.

Tad, I'm not fighting through Chemo just to have you drop because of illness. Chemo causes weight loss too you know. Damn it man, get well. Besides, it's your turn to buy breakfast. On the other hand, won't we look grand in the Country Omlette two skinny guys!

Yep. Humor and always lookin' for the silver lining helps.
Woody: My wife is not only an former Marine Officer, Librarian, Receptionist, Pharmacy Technician, Linguist (gad, I wish I had her retentive powers)...but also an RN. She's actually saved my life more than once. 'Sides, as I am retired from the Corps, the money comes in from them (not even countining my day job now - college instructor) only as long as I'm alive. Believe me, she takes good care of me! Talk about "pushing" fluids! Yikes.
GM, Had some touchy moments in the ER and some tests (super high white blood count which was worrisome), however, after X-rays, and other tests it came back to w/i normal range. The good news is that I fully intend on by thee an me the breakfast of our choice when you finish with your chemo.
I will not be pickin' any fist fights this week.
Grin.

Gosh, Batman....I just noticed even more spelling errors. I guess I am not really "back in battery" yet.
Oh, well, to err is human......

Tad, we consider the message rather than the spelling as being more important. However, if you wish, we will be glad to edit future comments for spelling, punctuation, and grammar--but, for you only. If we had to do it for the radical leftists, we would have to hire a full-time person, because they already keep us busy filtering curse words.
