That's right. She doesn't need oil to keep the Benz running. On the other hand, that symbol is a peace symbol carryover from the '60s, so it's not as ridiculous as it might otherwise seem. What is ridiculous is that this girl probably doesn't even know who represents her in Congress and quite likely has no understandings about war and economics and would never fight for her own freedom.

Thanks, Moose. There are economic factors, and certainly Hussein was a destabilizing force in this oil region. That doesn't take away from the human concerns--just like our involvement in the Balkans (supposedly.)

What I failed to realize is that the properly scrawled peace symbol has the vertical line running from top to bottom--through the angled lines. Thus, her face is painted with that just for a Mercedes rather than that for peace. Of course, I haven't taken part in anti-war, anti-Bush protests, so how would I know?
