texas vs. usc!
A good friend of mine, The Real Ugly American (click on the link, there is some good reading there) went on vacation and asked me (and another dude) to put up a few posts for him while he was gone. We both graciously agreed to do so, then found out that we were gonna root for different teams for the National Collegiate Football Championship. Well, that started a rivalry and below is my latest entry in that rivalry.
Not very long ago, I posted this graphic of the University of Texas Longhorn, with TEXAS superimposed above it:
Not willing to let things slide, some worthy, but ultimately losing USC fan posted on this very same blog this graphic:
Kind of puny as graphics go, only 150 pixels wide and a mere 200 tall. Nothing like my robust 250 pixel wide and 225 pixel tall graphic of the GREAT TEXAS LONGHORN
But I digress. The real reason my worthy (but ultimately gonna lose fellow conservative and otherwise brilliant) blogger bud posted such a small graphic is because if you enlarge the graphic to where you can see what is going on, you see this:
You really can't blame him though, who wants to publicize that the TROJAN mascot is rooting for TEXAS?
HOOK 'EM HORNS!
As I said, mosey over to The Real Ugly American and when TRUA comes back and enjoy his blog, he and his blog buds have some great reading (but you be sure and come back now, ya' hear?)
Be careful what you blog, George. Remember the front page blog in the November 3, 1948 Chicago Daily Tribune?

The difference TOM, is that the Trib projected a winner AFTER the election. I'm predicting the outcome BEFORE the game.

Would it be out of line to say that TEXAS is going to bust the Trojan??

This USC Dad says that there is nothing bigger than a Texas fan before they get the snot kicked out of Texas at the Rose Bowl. ;->

I'm going to have to split from you on this one, G.M.
First, I have close family who graduated from Texas A&M, and I have to share their loyalties.
Second, but a minor consideration, is that the George Bush Presidential Library is at A&M and LBJ's is at Texas.
Third, and most importantly, I don't like people who aren't loyal. Gene Chizik was defensive coordinator for Auburn, where my dad played, before moving this season in a lateral move to Texas. It's just not polite to accept lateral moves from one major NCAA school that helped you build your resume to another one. Moves are supposed to be for better positions--like to become a head coach. Chizik showed me no class with that, so, I'm hoping that So. Cal wins--expecially by beating the Texas defense.
Texas hires Chizik from AU

Sorry.

After LSU got their arses kicked by Georgia, I just kinda lost interest anyway....
Texas/USC should be a great game...

Even if they offer you a lot more money?

They might have offered him more, but I don't remember that being mentioned as a reason for moving. I suspect that he saw Auburn being down this season after graduating high picks in the NFL and that he saw Texas having a better shot at the BCS championship. Of course, Auburn picked up the slack from the graduations better than expected, but Texas is in position to win it all. His move just was contrary to what people expect in the coaching ranks--sort of like when Coach Fran went from Alabama to Texas A&M. Those moves don't sit well with the people who gave you a shot and then find that you didn't reciprocate with loyalty.

It's gonna be one hella game -- too bad your girls are gonna get the snot kicked out of them.
Love the graphics hijack, though; I only wish I'd thought of something similar, sooner, you dog.
FIGHT ON!!!

Vince Young vs. Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, LenDale White, Dwayne Jarrett and of course the amazing coaching style of Pete Carroll.
GOOD LUCK!
