When Is The World Going To Take Iran Seriously?
My blog friend Seth at Hard Astarbord has a new entry up on the Mad Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of the Rogue State of Iran. This "nation" is full of terrific people who have a government that is full of crap. Having said that, the recent pronouncements by AhMADinejad regarding our friends the Israelis is next to impossible to believe. AhMADinejad stated:
"Some European countries insist on saying that Hitler killed millions of innocent Jews in furnaces. Although we don't accept this claim, if we suppose it is true, if European countries claim that they have killed Jews in World War II, why don't they provide the Zionist regime with a piece of Europe? Germany and Austria can provide the regime with two or three provinces for this regime to establish itself, and the issue will be resolved. You offer part of Europe, and we will support it."
Seth reports that Mark Steyn has the lowdown in what has to be a must read column. Thanks Seth for the pointer.
Posted by GM Roper at December 12, 2005 07:38 AM | TrackBackI have some Iranian friends, GM, and meeting them you'd never dream of the wild-eyed fanatics of the Khomeini/Carter era or sanity-challenged Ahmadinejad.
I think the only way the good Iranians will ever have control of their own country, thereby eliminating the nuclear dangers currently posed by Ah-jad, will be by means of a bloody revolution or a visit from our troops.
However, I think Mark Steyn may be right -- because of all the BS from the left and the diplodinks, there won't be any preemptive measures taken, there'll have to be a nuclear holocaust before these idiots take any action.
Thanx for the link. :-)

I know some people in Syria who come to the U.S. about every year or two for real estate transactions. They are pleasant, polite, and professional; but, if the subject of Israel comes up, they get crazy and tell me how the U.S. press is controlled by the Jews and that they are lying to us, etc., etc. They get nuts. I thought that if these "reasonable" people react that way, then there is no hope in achieving peace with any nation controlled or populated by people who are outwardly radical.

As far as sovereign countries go, Syria has always been Israel's bitter enemy.
