The Best Comment I Ever Got
Comments come in all shapes and sizes. From quick one or two word puns, to long and involved deeply thoughtful comments. They come in twos and threes, in tens and twenties. They come from regular readers, and from occasional readers. They even come from regular readers who just lurk in the bushes and pop out every once in a while.
On Veterans Day, I posted General Douglas MacArthur's 1962 speech at The United States Military Academy at West Point (here). At the tail end of the General's speech, I wrote:
Happy Veteran's Day to all of our Vets and their Families. Honor to those who fell in the defense of freedom, peace to those who did not die, but were shattered none-the-less. Our hearts go out to the familys of the fallen!"
And, not surprisingly, the best comment I ever got came from my daughter, my kid, the future of this country: And thank you Daddy."
"Daddy!" My daughter has bestowed on me the greatest title any man can have, better than any medal, better than any reward. Thanks sweetheart!
Yay!

Aww thats sweet! Yes, there is nothing as special and important as your children. And when they honor you, it's worth all the effort you put into raising them, right!
