In Sadness!
Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright,
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light;
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout,
But there is no joy at GM's Corner The mighty
RED SOX have struck out.

Iam a native born Texan. However I have grown up in the Boston suburbs. I am 40 years old and a lifetime member of Red Sox Nation. I waited 39 years for the stunning World Series Championship since my earliest memories.
I have no idea how long you have been a Sox fan. But I suggest you get used to the idea that it could be another 100 years before we win another World Series.
All true Sox fans accept this. Please lets us know that you are a true member of the Red Sox Nation who is willing to remain the best baseball fans ever. And wait as long as it takes to win it all again.
I Know you can,don't give up after all theres always next year.

No doubt, somehow this was Clinton's fault...

I guess it was too much to ask that the Red Sox have another crack at the title two years in a row. Too bad! I am not really a Red Sox fan, but I root for them because they are Stephen King's team. We all have our own criteria, I suppose.
In truth, I lost much of my interest in baseball when Cal Ripken retired from "my" team--the Baltimore Orioles. In spite of the Nationals' proximity to me, I've had a hard time becoming a fan of what is now my home team because I grew up an Orioles fan once the Senators disbanded.

Things aren't too happy in Bravesville, either. I mind getting beat, but I REALLY mind lack of effort when a championship is on the line--which I saw on one key play that I don't care to discuss. At least we'll get a refund on the rest of our playoff tickets just before Christmas, as we do every year.

I'm a lifelong Red Sox fan. I remember '67, '75, '78, '86, '03. I LOVED '05! But, given the state of their pitching this year my expectations were low for any post-season success. It might have helped if their 5 - 9 hitters had actually, you know, gotten a couple more hits.
Cheer up! Only 85 years to go!

At least the Angels knocked off the Yankees. Time to start rooting for Chicago.
