Did Karl Rove Tip Off "Who's Who" on Name of CIA Agent?
When Bob Novak walked away from the discussion with James Carville on CNN's Inside Politics the other night, one might have overlooked the fact that there was a book of "Who's Who in America" sitting on the discussion desk. Too bad that they never got to it. That edition from 2002 contained an entry about Democratic Ambassador Joseph Wilson and identified that his wife, with the CIA, was Valerie Plame--and that reference was in all the books from 1999 - 2005! Here's a copy of the entry from Wizbang.
If the Democratic Underground and MoveOn can act quickly, they can claim that Karl Rove is so devious that he tipped off "Who's Who" years in advance about Wilson's wife to set them up. Rove is so devious that he read the tea leaves for the future and began his dirty trick when Bill Clinton was still in office.
If I were with the Democrats, I'd consult with a fortune teller to find out what Rove is doing today to hurt Hillary Clinton in 2008. Do you think that he would expose the name of her husband?

So? Your point? In Woody's world it's okay to ignore the fact that Rove outed herf as a CIA agent because, heck fire, Wilson's report didn't fall in line with the misinformation the Bush administration was spreading to help sell a war. And no doubt to him the special investigation is nothing more than a Democratic plot to smear dear old Karl Rove, paragon of virtue that he is.
Is it any wonder that 58 % of Americans believe that Bush has been dishonest about Iraq, when this is the best you can do, shoot the messenger?

Jim is one of dem folk who don't recall all the facts... such as: it was common knowledge around DC that Ms. Plame drove a desk at the CIA, and that she had not served overseas for over 5 years, and that she was not even close to being 'under cover' when word "got out' that was 'out' already, and well, the list does go on, doesn't it.

Nice try, MH...but I'm quite familiar indeed with all of this, and your regurgitation of the spin in no way aleviates the central point...that Rove chose to use her afiliation to the CIA to try and deflect the criticism inherant in Wilson's report. It must be a bitter pill to swallow, coming to grips with the fact that all the reasons Bush won over folks like you to the war in Iraq were based on fallacies and deliberate distortions of intelligence. The real bellweather of being honest with yourselves is to ask how you would have reacted if it was a Democratic administration using the tactics Rove and Co. used.
By the way, Woody, you did check into the Roviations used against McCain in South Carolina in 2000, right?
