In a comment about a month ago, someone from the left said that we can never win our fight against terrorism because a new Islamic terrorist will appear and replace any who are killed. That offers no hope unless they are all killed, which my retired Naval friend suggested could easily be accomplished with nukes.

We have handled other situations like this by chopping off the head (killing the leaders), which makes everyone below it unable to function. If that strategy doesn't work, the only other historical solution that I see is the solution to attacks from the American Indians, which were viewed in a similar light by many back then. (See Declaration of Independence.) Our solution to them was to ultimately force them onto reservations where they could have their own system, be controlled and monitored, and not bother American citizens. The U.N. created a home for the Jews after WWII--Israel. Can or will the world ultimately create a home for Islamic radicals and force believers of radical Islam onto controlled reservations in the mideast?

No one likes any of the solutions, but I guarantee you that there will be one outcome that we will not see--the U.S. giving up.

I fear the day is coming that we will look back and comparitively speaking will consider 9/11 as a mere warning shot from these Islamofascists. We can not allow nor will we accept the possibility of these type of happenings becoming common place in our streets. Where I kids play and our families congregate. I wise man once said that when your enemy shows themself "shoot". Well I say we pull the trigger and let history applaud us for taking action rather than waiting to be counted as victims.

This is not really on-topic, but for some reason it struck me as perfectly apt today.

I was watching O'Reily who was on fire tonight (for a refreshing change), and he had Jamie Rubin on as a guest analyst.

At the end of the segment, when Bill had repeatedly tried to get Rubin to explain why Europe simply didn't get IT, Rubin said and I quote " I don't get paid enough to defend France".

Coming from Jamie(who much prefers to dance around the issue) this was about as damming as it gets. Made me LOL. It was that good.

Just a 'after-thought' - of sorts - regarding US/UK solidarity...

Just to thank everyone in the US for your thoughts in solidarity to the tragedy that has hit the UK in the past months. But also to say that solidarity is a two way process - and as such, our sympathies go to you during the event's of Hurricane Katrina.

Both tragedies may be a world apart -in both cause as well as geographically - but be assured we all stand together steadfastly in our mutual support.

I wish everyone in the US our best wishes in dealing with this catastrophy.
