Another Dandy Dick Durbanism.... Another Gift That Keeps On Giving!!!
"I call on those who question the motives of the president and his national security advisers to join with the rest of America in presenting a united front to our enemies abroad."
Dick Durban (D. Ill)
That was Sen. Dick Durbin in 1998, when Bill Clinton attacked Iraq. But that was then, and this is George W. Bush.
A Tip of the GM Chapeaux to Crossing The Rubicon2 for the pointer to James Lileks.

The patriotism of the 'loyal' opposition is beyond dispute. I have this on un-impeachable authority( well actually it was just Reg, but someone has to do this distasteful work,I guess),that to question anyone's patriotism is the act of a poltroon. Even or maybe especially if their patriotism(and/or judgement) is a truffle questionable.

As for me, as a very general comment, given the choice of having an all expense paid dinner with any member of the House or the Senate OR having a cup of instant coffee with a Sergeant-Commander of a Bradley fighting vehicle or a Marine machine gun squad leader..the latter would win....hands down.
I find that "contempt" often comes to mind when I watch CSPAN and listen to those who have the gall to put "The Honorable" in front of their names. Yes, they are not all bad all the time. However, Will Rogers was more right about Congress than any one else I've heard describe them.

Let it go, GM. Durbin screwed up. He paid for it. Now, can be talk about the BS that Rove launched yesterday? Democratics are pussy-cowards who prefer therapy for our enemies to defending the country? Who is playing politics with national security issues now? (BTW, I voted [reluctantly] for Bush, so I ain't no flamethrower.) Pot, kettle . . . .
