Thought for Today
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

I think, Sir, that you got this right. Are there way more evil and stupid people, or do I just read, hear and see more of them? I am not sure, but the various societies demanded more of their members. Sure, some things they did were unacceptable to many others today, but with modern transportation and communications all sorts of evil people can more themselves and their awful ideas around much more easily. Kidnapping, for example, was really rare when I was a kid. We use to "hitch" rides all the time and no one ever was out of line with me. I rode as a nine year old kid on the Greyhound bus from my hometown to Oakland, CA. (yep, that is what I said) got off, transfer to a bus to San Francisco and was met by my grandfather. NO ONE thought much about it as we really were quite safe. GM, there were NO, repeat, NO drugs in my high school. I didn't even know about drugs. I am not some 70-80 year old either. It really was a better time in some ways. While there was some awfulness in terms of bigotry and racism, we've now written laws to deal with all that, only to see the level of awfulness throughout society sink and sink. How do you account for this? Damned if I know. Lousy parents? Lousy schools? Social relativism?

Lack of Chlorine?
