It is rare for a game to live up to the pre-game hype. Never has that been more true than last night's drubbing of the Sox by the Yankees. My view may be skewed by geography, but all the talk in Boston over the past two weeks (5 months?) has been about how good our team is and how beating the Yankees in their place with Randy Johnson pitching was just a certainty. Meanwhile the Yankees seem to have just gone about the serious business of preparing themselves for the first game.
Many Red Sox fans are a bunch of yahoos. And some of the players have gone along for the ride. Hopefully this is a wakeup call cuz' I won't be able to take it if they go 0-162!

Sadly, I agree. The Sox had a chip on their shoulders but it is good to have it knocked off so resoundingly so early in the season.

Oh, thou dastardly Ogre... hehe!!!!
The Yanks DESERVED that win, The Sox played like they had been up carousing all night and were thinking about beer, not baseball.
But, the season is young... REAL young.
