King Of The Blogs Competition

crown.JPG

The wait is over, the points counted, the challenge question answered, the post and sites measured and against some exceptionally fine competition and for the second competition in a row, I've been selected King of the Blogs. I am deeply honored, especially given the competition.

Tish from The World According To Tish was a particularly tough competetor and in fact, beat me solid in the readers poll. It was touch and go for a while, then she pulled ahead and stayed there. She has, from the comments section, some very loyal fans and that can only be good. Tish, if ya had to come in second, at least it was to a fellow Texan!

New Trommeter Times by Jason Trommetter is also an excellently designed blog with lots to say. I've added both to my blogroll because when they were announced as my competition I went to take a look.

OMGosh I thought, this is not going to be a cake walk, and sure enough; it wasn't.

I want to thank each of the judges for their time and their effort at taking a close look at blogs each and every week and coming up with a grade for that blog. It can't be easy. The three are Ogre at Ogre's Politics and Views Songstress at News From The Great Beyond and last but certainly not least Pietro from SmarterCop

Thanks also to Nick Queen of NickQueen.com, King of fools and of course Christweb

Tough competition on both weeks has made me a better blogger I think, and a much better writer. Now, if I can only learn that linky-love stuff.....

ADDENDUM: I plead extreme tiredness last night as I posted this at Oh-Dark-Thirty in the morning (After 1:00 AM.) There are some folks that I surely forgot to thank. Pat Santy at Dr.Sanity, HRM Jeremy Bol at American Warmonger, Teach at Pirate's Cove and all the terrific people who voted for me time and again. Because you all believed in me I was graced with friendship and I in turn extend it right back.

I've come to pay my respects to the King. You have a great blog. Please reign with a fair and compassionate wave of your hand.
Thanks for the plug and you are on my blogroll. Enjoy your Kingdom.

Tish, Thank you so very much. You were a very tough competetor and I do hope you will enter again. One of the secerets I learned was studying all the previous "judgements" and trying to incorporate them into my blog. It paid off. That it paid off against a terrific blog like yours was even better.

P.S., I'm jealous of your header, it is TERRIFIC... dark and stormy night.. LOL

Sire, I thought you already were King. Is this a weekly deal? Maybe I must go back and re-read THE PRINCE. Wait. Got it. This is like Europa, right? You've a number of titles. Kaiser Bill was actually King of Prussia AND Emperor of greater Deutscheland, which in those days included Alsace and Lorraine...not to mention the colonies in Afrika and the Pacific. The P of W, so much in the news of late, is also Duke of Cornwall, and host of other things. Do I have this right? Does this mean that I, as your most humble and obedient savant (no, I didn't misspell it) will soon receive additional titles and danskgeld to line my pockets? William, Lord Marshal and Duke of Far Away Places...with Strange Sounding Names
++++++++++++++++
The danskgeld is in the mail!

While the Duck writes to you and asks you to enrich his estates, increase his titles, and line his pockets, I write to you so that you may hold your kingdom against those who would put it asunder.

Oh King, hear my advice: first create your own army, complete with soldiers of foot and of swift cavalry; use them to your advantage in punishing those who would otherwise stand against you. Second, send out colonies as a means of infiltrating others, to either win them over, or crush them as you determine necessary. Third, beware of any endeavor that would weaken your kingdom and make another stronger. Finally, remember that the fear of your subjects is a better friend to you than their love and a better guard against them ever divorcing you.

Your obedient and true servant,

H of B

You are doing a good job to make sure that "all the votes count and that all the votes are counted...and counted, and counted, and counted." At least that's the formula that the other side uses to steal elections. Congratulations on your re-election.
