Paul Deignan writes Info Theory. He has only posted about 40 or so posts over a seven month period, but what he does post is fascinating. Please, go visit, drop him a comment or two and let him know how much you appreciate his blog. Blogs that delve into information theory are good learning experiences, and there are far too few on the internet. Not saying there aren't any, just too few. But this one is one of the better ones.

Paul posted a comment on my site and of course, I had to go look and see who the new kid on the block was. (relatively speaking of course his blog is 2 months older than my first effort.)

Welcome to the Blogosphere Paul.

As a friendly remark from someone whose mother was a teacher who even corrected the grammar on Christmas cards, the correct spelling is "Theory."

Paul is incorrect to assume that the husband could take the $1 million to give up custody to save Terri's life. The court ruled as it did because it was Terri's wish to be unplugged--not her husband's. His testimony only communicated her feelings that he conveniently remembered. He couldn't take the money and say her wish changed. It was too late.

I think I agree with you re: MS; in his case face must be saved even if it means a life must be taken. Thanks for commenting

It may be a case of saving face in public, but in the legal arena he had no choice. Once the court determined, in its mind, that Terri had expressed her death wish through her husband, then her husband was totally out of the picture. Obviously, it was clear that Terri thought that being slowly starved and dehydrated to death was preferable over living.

I think the only way the bribe could have worked would be if the husband accepted the $1 million and convinced the court that he had a "new memory" of Terri wanting to live and that this recollection had nothing to do with the money. I think that the leftist judge would only have accepted that if Terri's husband agreed to donate half to Hillary Clinton's campaign for President.

Just think, if Hillary had been president, then Congress would not have gone into special session to attempt to save a life. Hillary would have just sent in the storm troopers with weapons drawn yelling, "Give me the **** tube" and sent Terri to a Cuban hospice.
