Well I pissed off the loons at Ace of Spades earlier this week when I forecast a McCain Win just as the polls closed in Florida so I may as well continue to win friends and influence people. A man must have a goal. Any goal will do as long as it is forward looking.
This will hopefully be the beginning of the end of the Limbaugh et al. traveling circuses (circi ?). He and his fellow demagogues will NOT be able to prevent the good ship 'conservative'(as they define it) from doing a Titanic on Tuesday. Already the first 2 forward compartments are full and the water is nearing the top of the bulkheads leading to compartment 3. The drinks are toppling over in first class(as if there were any other), and many 'real' conservatives are rushing angrily and noisily for the lifeboats, pushing the undeserving out of the way en route.
I have this mental picture of Limbaugh and Hannity, Malkin, and especially Coulter, losing their desperate but 'pure' grips on whatever stanchion is to hand, and sliding inexorably into the foaming hostile waters below.
I am really trying not to smile.
LOL even.
Really I am.
I think I am losing.

McCain is a RINO and that is why the NYT endorsed him and why the media loves him. If the Dems lose they will still have a lib in the White House.
I would rather have Obama or Clinton win than McCain. That way the cry baby libs can't blame the failures on a Republican and we on the right will get to point fingers and show the ineptitude of those who will tax us to death.
I never resist laughing at a liberal. Liberals can never defend positions and can never govern. Their entire ability rests in extorting money from those who make it and giving it to those who do not.

Now while CNN has claimed "It's a two-man race" in both parties (yes, they said exactly that), I still say the fat lady ain't singin! I'd suggest if you put Ron Paul up there, his answers would match Romney's -- and Paul wouldn't put me in jail for refusing to buy the health insurance of his choice...

GM,
Well, that tabulation is quite a list.
I had not idea that Romney could look so good--in comparison, that is.

OK I give.
I have now watched Coulter's mental collapse(I use the terms 'mental' term, and Coulter, in the same sentence, very loosely indeed) on U-tube and since she now represents 'real' conservatives to the nth degree, I am retracting my previous opinions.
She has convinced me. Hillary is far preferrable to McCain because she will be 'tougher' on the War and is not a HERETIC.
I am now a convert to the cause.
GM --- all those anti-Hillary postings. Down the memory hole , my man. Down the memory hole. It was all a big mistake. The World's biggest and least charming ditz has spoken.
I have never seen a Party go truly insane before. Maybe it was always insane but I just didn't notice because it was right on ONE THING. It's kind of amusing if you just sit back and watch. Probably should stock up on the beer and munchies because it looks to be a long running show.
But it's really only 'kind of' amusing because as we all know the monsters set a new low today in Baghdad. That sort of takes the fun out of it. For me at least.

Sigh.

Uh, you mean like how most conservatives were led blindly into supporting the war in Iraq? With all the contradictory information that was out there? The kind of stuff you had to DO YOUR HOMEWORK to come across?

Jim, like the post with clinton's video below? How about Hillary's vote after SHE says she carefully studied the materials and voted. Hmmm, like that you mean?
Oh, and GO REDSOX....

I get different candidate comparisons from different groups who have their own agenda. On one, there were ten questions and seven of them had to do with homosexuals--who aren't exactly a big worry of mine at the moment.
Maybe we need a list of the most important issues in order of importance. My number one would be the war on terror, which the Democrats have managed to completely force off the discussion some how.
Does it take a major disaster for people to realize that this issue is more important than all the social programs listed by Hillary Clinton on her Christmas packages?

In this election, Mitt Romney is the person remaining who comes closest to my standings on the issues. Mr. Hitchcock throws out a straw man - "...conservatives were led blindly into supporting the war in Iraq" when I'm sure he knows Hillary, John Kerry and many other liberals supported the Iraq War when they thought it would get them votes.
My liberal progressive sister sent me this quote at that time - "The object of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other bastard die for his." - George Patton. But I guess long term commitment didn't feel good enough for the liberal crowd.
Now I'm wondering how many liberals wouldn't vote for Romney because they're bigots and wouldn't vote for a practicing Mormon for president.

Sarah Palin has deliberately left the question as to whether or not she will run in 2012 open. For those who believe a bid for the GOP nomination is still a possibility for her, The Arizona Republic provides women’s chef coats some further evidence: after months of rumors, Palin may have purchased a house in Scotsdale, Arizona.
