What Sen. McCain Thinks of You

Have you ever had that sneaking feeling that John McCain holds disdain for your beliefs and intelligence?  You're not the only one.

John McCain Hates Me (Selections)  by Michael Reagan

Until last night, when I watched the Republican debate, I had no idea how much John McCain dislikes me and just about everybody else but Rudy Giuliani, who if you believe The New York Times is a pretty good hater himself.

As I watched McCain and Governor Romney go at it during the debate at the Reagan Library I was struck by the huge gap that separates McCain -- whose contempt for his fellow humans is patently obvious -- and my dad, Ronald Reagan, who had nothing but the deepest affection and respect for the American people.

...He has contempt for conservatives who he thinks can be duped into thinking he’s one of them, despite such blatantly anti-conservative actions....

Michael Reagan, the eldest son of Ronald Reagan, is heard daily by over 5 million listeners via his nationally syndicated talk radio program, “The Michael Reagan Show.”

If the choice is between McCain and Clinton, we'll have to select between two arrogant and bad-tempered people.  Feel free to write in G.M. Roper's name.  He has never yelled at you.

1 Face it: it's time to redouble efforts to pack the House and the Senate as much as possible with people who can withstand 4 years of socialist Juan "Snake" MexiCain or The Hildebeast. When November rolls around, if faced with a choice of Juan "Snake" MexiCain or The Hildebeast for chief executive, I'd be sorely tempted to vote for The Hildebeast for two reasons: 1. As chief exec, she'd have a harder time getting her communist agenda past a Congress with (already) more than a few folks who hate her guts than MexiCain would have getting HIS communist agenda past a Congress filled with his buddies. 2. The Republican't "leadership" needs a wakeup call, and if a sizeable portion of its expected support evaporates in the face of a clearlt despicable candidate, AND folks made it plain that voting for the opposition was a protest vote AGAINST MexiCain's treasonous, socialist "surrender our borders" (etc.) behavior, then MAYBE (just, very remotely maybe) it'd be the wakeup call the so-called "leadership" needs. OTOH, as I recently counseled someone struggling with the sophomoric idealism vs. pragmatism dichotomy, pragmatism always fails, because we cannot know the future. We can THINK acting "pragmatically" will lead to such and so in outcome, but the only thing we KNOW will lead to positive outcomes (eventually) is moral and ethical (idealistic) behavior. So *sigh* the question becomes, "Is a protest vote against a plainly unsuitable candidate a moral and ethical act?" I'll be struggling with that question between niow and November, no matter who is nominated for the chief exec position by either party (since all remaining candidates are unsuitable, IMO). Which is why I say again, we need to pack COngress with a better class of congresscritters.

3 Now, with Romney out, McCain is going to pander to the conservative base.  I was fooled with Bush, thinking that he was a conservative, but he didn't veto huge pork bills, initially nominated a terrible choice for the Supreme Court, and took a lax attitude about illegal immigration.  Why should I think that McCain would be any better.  If this country is going to get screwed up, let the Democats do it.
