Colorado Blogging
I'm recovering from a week in Colorado, though it took me a full 48 hours to warm up again. We were 9600 feet up in a cabin overlooking a beautiful valley about an hour and a half's drive from Ft. Collins.
The winding highway to the mountains showed vistas not to be believed.
The cabin we stayed in while we hammered out programs for the drug and alcohol dependent adolescents we work with was absolutely georgeous and thanks to our host, Greg, for putting us up while we worked. His cabin, as stated is stupendous.
The second morning there, I and a co-worker walked down the road a bit, surely not more than 50 yards and came across a mule deer foraging. I was able to get this shot before he saw us and bolted. How he could be so swift in such rocky climes I'll not understand!
Everyone has heard of the golden aspens that dot Colorado, but their beauty must be seen to be believed.
The sunsets, each and every night, were not only spectacular, but the sky's were almost always a crystal clear blue with puffy clouds accenting the blue vaults of the heavens; until the 2nd night there. More on that later.
Just as the sunsets were beautiful, sun rise was beyond belief, with a great ball of fire rising in the east over the mountains and gradually lighting the valley below.
The evening of the second day, we watched as snow clouds came in from the west, all but obscuring the valley below. It was interesting to see the valley through a hole in the clouds from the deck of the cabin.
Of course, with the snow clouds comes snow. According to our host, a trifle late for that height, but welcome none-the-less (unless like me you are addicted to tropical climes.)
And lastly one snow scene that left me breathless, even though I am not real fond of being cold.

Beautiful pictures, GM. I can't imagine the wonderful feeling of breathing in that fresh mountain air...not to mention the wildlife and everything.
Surely a place where when you're standing outside, you hear crickets chirping...

These images remind me a little of Utah believe it or not GM. I love them. I want to go out to CO someday and climb them mountains.
