Of Course I Endorse That! - I Would Never Endorse That!

No one expects politicians to keep the same mindset through out a campaign (or in this case, campain) because new information and or new situations arise which an astute politician will realize requires a change of mindset.  This is especially true when you have such a long campaign as this one is.

Having said that, we also don't expect a politician to change positions in less than 120 seconds as did Hillary Clinton in the last Democrat debate.  When asked about Governor Spitzer's (D-NY) plan to issue driver's licenses to illegal aliens (or, if you are a progressive "undocumented workers") she initially endorsed the idea then, listening to Christopher Dodd's (D-Conn) answer in which he said essentially, "Hell No" she changed her answer.  As Captain Ed Morrissey says:

Analysts convinced of Hillary's inevitability underestimated the damage done with those two answers in the debate. Voters have never seen a candidate contradict themselves in one 120-second period on national television, and thanks to YouTube, the experience has gone viral.
Gone Viral Indeed!

The attempts by the Clinton campaign staff to duck and cover for this egregious performance has been amusing to watch, but instructive also as to the type of person Hillary Clinton really is.  For example, when asked about the National Archives sealing her files on the health care fiasco of '93, she flat out tried to blame Bush, when it was Bill himself that requested the seal.  As Captain Ed says, "The debate broke Hillary's double-talking dishonesty out into the open." And double talking it is indeed.

This has been the hallmark of the Clinton's and the previous Clinton Administration.  The question then arises as to whether America is willing to re-elect that type of administration.  If she claims now that those six mean men are ganging up on her, how will she react when the chips are really down and a military crisis occurs?

I don't think that America can stand another Clinton and while she may be the front runner now, the length of the campaign works against her, she can't possibly hold it together long enough to convince the Democrats that they have a winner in her.

My God, If ONE pic of that witch wasn't bad enough... Now we have reverse mirrors??

Point well made though... Hillary will pander to anyone and say whatever it takes, until it doesn't, then she'll say something else...

2 But she's just a poor girl and she's being picked on by the boys' club.  And therefore, she's winning a LOT of dumb female votes.

7 I have been saying for awhile now that I don't think Hillary is truly electable. I could be quite wrong, but I just don't see her getting the most important job in the world...much of it IS because she is a woman, who has a history of questionable tactics and- she carries Bill baggage. Mind you Bill was a well liked President- and she is using that in her favor. Back then I was a liberal (cough) (gag) but even I could NOT stand Hillary- she came across as fake and phoney and not at all womanly/motherly. Nope. I don't think she has what it takes and since you run a respected blog here GM, I won't say that word- but suffice to say it begins with a B and ends with a S.

Dear GM Roper, so lovely to get a post from you, old boy. Thanks for the very kind words.

I like your piece on the worlds foremost clinical narcissists, Hill and Bill Clinton. I mentioned to a friend recently, that the Clinton's telephoned me last week, merely to deny that they had ever telephoned me.

You may like this vid by Lonnie on Conservative Voice on that very fiasco bravura performance regards the Light on the Hilary.

Ya right of course regards the Denial of Delfina. Why bother?

Mostly as a nice though limited springboard, I guess. Yes, folks like Delfina do indeed see themselves as so "nuanced" in their outlook, as you said, that they can't tell shit from clay. With their total lack of clarity, the two do tend to merge.

Yep, she doesn't support Islamo Fascists? Er, so she does admit that they exist, but opposes the few who do actually try to do something about it by exposing the truth of Islamism!

Aah, all that's needed for evil to triumph is for stupid people to not think, do nothing and oppose the clear minded who do, as I think old Ed Burke said once.

Then in the same paragraph it's business as usual cant, canards, hyperbole and the usual Left drivel of calling respectable citizens "Fascist!" etc.

The worlds main Fascist groups are firstly Islamists, resurgent and old Communism, Nazis and derivatives, plus freaky Nationalists and the Left, Liberal and Radical Axis of Mediocrity.

I don't know who old Delfi means. Oh, don't tell me, she means George Bush! Riiight....

As I've said many times before, yeah, me, Anne Coulter and David Horowitz have arrested millions of people, Nationalised the entire economy and re-ordered society along military and bizarro Arcadian fantasy lines, and all before lunch.

The great thing GM, is that the Left, Liberal and Radical NEVER, EVER really say anything surprizing that you haven't heard  a million tawdry times before. It's amazing really that they don't slip into a self induced coma.

All the best GM Roper, and I count you among the growing community of very worthwhile and witty bloggers. Now let's all adjourn to the study for cigars and a damn good Cognac, what?!

9 George,

Aside from Hillary's normal BS routine, NY is trying to pull the same stunt they pulled in Florida with their abuse of the Motor Voter Act.  The idea put forward to the public was that when one applied for a driver license, any 'eligible citizen' would be given an opportunity to register to vote.  That's not what happened at all.  In fact, it's not even what was stated in the act originally.

My husband is an Italian citizen, but is here legally as a permanent resident - and has been for forty years.  About three years after the Motor Voter Act went into effect, he had to renew his driver license.  He was not given an "opportunity" to register to vote.  A couple weeks later he got his voter registration card in the mail.  Registration was automatic!

The last thing he wanted to do was endanger his status as a resident by even appearing to break any laws so he returned his voter's card with a scathing letter to the DMV asking "what the hell were they thinking?"

Later on the federal government removed the automatic registration provision, but this only tells the states that they don't HAVE to register drivers automatically - but they can if they want to.

Feb 2, 2005 the state of New York passed the "Automatic Voter Registration Act".  In the act it is stated that the DMV will transmit names and addresses of "citizens" who have received a driver license and they will automatically be registered to vote.  But that's just what the original federal act said and non-citizens were being registered in large numbers because the states either A) continue to maintain faulty databases or B) willfully ignore one's actual eligibility.

Just how many other non-citizens, besides my husband, do you think surrender their voters card?  I'm betting pretty close to zero.

Sarah Palin has deliberately left the question as to whether or not she will run in 2012 open. For those who believe a bid for the GOP nomination is still a possibility for her, The Arizona Republic provides women’s chef coats some further evidence: after months of rumors, Palin may have purchased a house in Scotsdale, Arizona. A deal on a secluded, 8,000-square-foot home in far north Scottsdale was recently closed by Safari Investments LLC for $1.695 million cash. The terms of the deal hide chef coats the identity of the owner, and when the attorney listed on the property records, Alan Kierman, was asked if Palin was the buyer, his response was an intriguing "no comment." According to the Republic, Palin has been rumored to be considering aprons headquartering her 2012 White House campaign in Scottsdale, if there is a campaign. A anonymous source from her camp also told Ben Smith at Politico that she would base a potential presidential campaign in Scottsdale, near where Bristol Palin recently bought fleece blankets a house in Maricopa. Palin has also been mentioned as a possible candidate for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Senator Jon Kyl.
