If a comparison with FDR is supposed to be a compliment of "The Chosen One," it had the reverse reaction in me.

With Obama at the wheel instead of in back, why not compare him to Morgan Freeman in "Driving Miss Daisy," except he may drive us over a cliff.

As Obama forms his "ruling" team and prepares to take office, the people who supported Obama want to help him set priorities. From one site accepting votes on this comes the below ranking, as of this writing.
Do you remember the big deal about having universal health care? Pretty important, huh? Well, look at what they ranked in importance right above that.
In President Obama’s first 100 days, he needs to:
- Invest in clean energy and create 5 million new green jobs
- Responsible, Phased Withdrawal of Troops in Iraq (16 months)
- Kill the PATRIOT Act
- Prosecute criminals in Bush administration
- Enact quality, affordable health care for all
- Shut down Guantanamo
- Restore, Uphold, and Defend the Constitution
- Raise Minimum Wage to a Living Wage
- End corporate welfare
- Stop domestic surveillance
It's amazing how much energy leftists spend in hating Bush, even to the point of ranking his prosecution above life itself.
If you have the stomach for it, you can read the rest of their priorities at the site, too. Pick out your favorite. Mine is "Eliminate the IRS!" I can always find other work. At least it would keep Obama from raising taxes.
What would you want Obama to do--besides quit?
[Update] - Yep. The Democrats got their marching orders from the left and are moving ahead on a high priority issue. They're going to live in a hate-filled past forever, which is not change but what we've come to expect from them.

The Democrats scared kids in past elections by claiming that Republicans would draft them into serving our nation. How times have changed. Now, the Democrats want to draft kids into "civil defense service" or "community service" (a racist code word, btw) -- and compensation may not be part of the formula. We're already seeing forced volunteerism in colleges under the name of "service learning."
How would you or your kids like to be forced into an involutary national or community service plan--one set up by Obama? Maybe you would even get to "donate" your time to ACORN! It's wrong, in my eyes, even if there is compensaton. Well, Obama is pushing it, although specifics are disappearing from his website as we read. Here's some insight from an interview with Obama chief of staff Emanuel.
Rahm Emanuel On Compulsory Service PlanSMITH: I meant to ask you about the universal service piece of the plan. Can you tell me about it how is this going to work? Are people going to live in barracks?
EMANUEL: Universal Civil Defense Training…I think he had it at 18, but we thiinking somewhere between the ages of 18 and 25, you will do three months of training. You can do it in your(inaudible). Some point in college you can do just that. There can be nothing wrong with all Americans having a joint similar experience.
I mentioned this a few days ago on a blog where I quit commenting a couple of years ago and pretend to not comment there now, because G.M. is supposed to shoot me if I do. Here's the exchange, as it might have happened, had I really done it.

Just like the Democrats did in the 2004 Washington state governor's race, in 2008 the Democrats in Minnesota keep coming up with overlooked votes to help Al Franken who, only for the time being, is behind Republican incumbent Norm Coleman in the vote count for U.S. Senator.

Minnesota Ripe for Election FraudMinnesota is becoming to 2008 politics what Florida was in 2000 or Washington State in 2004 -- a real mess. The outcome will determine whether Democrats get 58 members of the U.S. Senate, giving them an effective filibuster-proof vote on many issues.
When voters woke up on Wednesday morning after the election, Senator Norm Coleman led Al Franken by what seemed like a relatively comfortable 725 votes. By Wednesday night, that lead had shrunk to 477. By Thursday night, it was down to 336. By Friday, it was 239. Late Sunday night, the difference had gone down to just 221 -- a total change over 4 days of 504 votes.
Virtually all of Franken’s new votes came from just three out of 4130 precincts, and almost half the gain (246 votes) occurred in one precinct -- a heavily Democratic precinct....
The fix is in--not counting what ACORN has already done. Will the Republicans have the will to fight this if Franken steals the election? I doubt it.

Do you remember when the Democrats accused Ronald Reagan of an October Surprise that never existed but led to investigations by the Democrats? House Speaker Thomas Foley (D) and Senate Democratic leader George Mitchell (D) said, "We have no conclusive evidence of wrongdoing, but the seriousness of these allegations, and the weight of circumstantial information, compel an effort to establish the facts." Wasn't that brilliant? There is no evidence, so it must be worse than we thought.
Also, do you remember Hillary Clinton's campaign warning Democrats back in May that they may face an October Surprise with Sen. Obama? “We don’t know enough about Senator Obama yet. We don’t need an October Surprise. And (the chance of) an October Surprise with Hillary is remote.” And, Democrats worried so much about Gov. Palin's vetting.
This has led some to speculate that Obama would be the victim of an October Surprise about illegal activities, leading him to fall on his sword by dropping out and allowing Hillary Clinton to graciously replace him as the Democratic Presidential nominee in order to save the party. That would take more scandal, backroom deals, and humility than normal, so, unless Obama is found dead with a gun in his hand at Ft. Marcy Park, I think that the next scenario is more likely.
Obama running mate Sen. Biden, after using up his gaff allotment, may come down with a sudden "illness" forcing him to withdraw and allowing Hillary Clinton to join Obama as his female sidekick and a "new and improved running mate." Would she do it?
Such antics by the Democrats are not new, as you may remember in 2002 when New Jersey Democrats replaced trailing and corruption ridden Robert Torricelli with Frank Lautenberg only fifteen days before the Senate election, and got away with it despite a fifty-one day legal requirement. In fact, Obama had opposition disqualified when he ran for state and federal offices, so he could pull something similar on Biden, too. One other option is that Sen. Biden would be found at Ft. Marcy Park.
So, what other October Surprise could there be? Well, it's like the one for which the Democrats falsely accused Reagan. Obama is accused of encouraging the Iraqi government to delay the pull down of American troops there, so as to allow him to use Iraq for political purposes.
WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.
"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.
So, there we have several scenarios of an October Surprise. One, that of the Republicans, has been proven false. Another, that of the New Jersey Democrats, was true. The other three by the Democrats are possibilities, so don't be October Surprised if the Democratic ticket changes and Obama is found to have attempted to interfere with a more rapid pullout of our troops from Iraq.
Thus, the score on October Surprises is Republicans -0- and Democrats -1-, but the Democrats are sitting with the ball inside the ten yard line primed to score again.
Oh, just one suggestion, Sen. Obama. If Hillary Clinton does become your running mate, for your own good, don't visit Ft. Marcy Park.

When I listened to the Democrats attacking businesses for not paying taxes, I knew they were stupid or lying about it. My corporate clients don't pay taxes because almost all are Subchapter-S corporations, which means that the corporate income flows to their personal returns and is taxed there. No taxes are avoided. They are simply taxed on another form.
But, the Democrats would have you believe that the taxpayers are lying on their taxes. If anyone is lying, it's Nancy Pelosi and her crowd, unchallenged by their adoring media.
Democrats Offer Lesson in Misleading on Taxes
Last week, the Government Accountability Office released a report that revealed why Washington is so broken: Democratic politicians too often act like U.S. businesses are the enemy.
...``When two-thirds of corporations pay no taxes,'' Pelosi said, ``American workers are forced to pay too much in taxes even as they cope with rising prices and falling wages.''
The study seemed to play right into the Democratic us- against-them playbook. Evil corporations rake in the cash and then play dirty tricks to avoid taxes. That leaves the little guy with the bill for our government.
The problem is, the study showed no such thing. ....
To the Democrats, no one (well, at least "the rich"--which means you and me) pays enough in taxes. Just put the Democrats in total control and that will be changed, and that's one type of change that our economy and families can't take.

Democrats are in a tizzy over John Edwards' affair, even more than Republicans, because John Edwards almost hurt their party and their causes--not the country. Character was an issue when Bill Clinton was running and serving in office--but, not to liberals. They long for a return to the Clinton years. But, what did that get us and why should we want to return to that? Did they not learn anything?
In response to a liberal, one of the few rational ones that I know, this is how I answered his pining for the Clinton years in light of the Edwards scandal.
When Clinton left office, the dotcom bubble had burst, the country was in a real rather than a pretend media recession, China had purchased our missile guidance secrets with donations to Clinton, FBI files were used to destroy his detractors, terrible felons were pardoned at the last minute for money and favors, and the stage for 9-11 was set by his policy of "can I wait another day without dealing with a crucial issue."As part of those issues and a problem that became his legacy, Bill Clinton was a liar with low character. He hurt more than Democrats. He hurt our entire nation with his misconduct and lies.
When Clinton was running for office and was in office, it was often repeated by him, the Democrats, and the press that "character didn't matter." The American public was misled. Character does matter, and to say otherwise is a horrible lesson for our children.
Clinton corrupts our national culture
Eleven-year-old Keith Lynch of the Bronx said, "He's lying to people who love him and trust him. That's no President to me. He should be ashamed of himself for teaching kids bad things." Tyrone Strother, 15, also of the Bronx, said, "He went to lie school, not law school." Cory Hinojosa, a Houston seven-year-- old, knows that lying is wrong. When he lies, he says, he gets a "time-out." Says Cory, "They should give a punishment like not to be President the rest of the year."The point here is that children inhabit a moral universe. There is a law, St. Paul says, "written on the hearts of men" that gives us a sense of right and wrong. These kids know right from wrong. Dare we reeducate them to believe that there is no truth, that there are no consequences for bad behavior?
Have you not learned that lesson yourself and want to return to those Clinton years? Some of you never learn, I guess, including John Edwards on the character issue.
Yet, the biggest complaint from the left isn't what John Edwards might have done to our country but what he might have done to the Democratic Party. That's selfish and pathetic.

Could John Edwards be the baby daddy? I guess we'll only know for sure if he takes a DNA test and goes on Maury Povich.
Here's the denial from John Edwards:

Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama has received the promise of a prominent Madame (name withheld) to provide him with millions of women to fulfill his needs in exchange for his providing millions of dollars to her for debts, thus, showing there is little difference between the world's second oldest profession and the first.

Now, we know why this unnamed madame is available to answer the phone at three in the morning.
The love embrace above has much feeling, sincerity, and mutual respect as ten minutes with a prostitute.

Dear Mr. Obama:
We here at the Messiah Bus Company of Chicago understand how difficult it has been for you in recent days. First, there was the controversy over the rather absurd comments from the right wing zealots regarding Chicago's own Reverend Wright. Trinity United Church of Christ was built by this fine man, but since you were running for president, we understood the need to separate yourself from him.
Your wife, Michele Obama's comments about finally being proud didn't help either. Then comes our favorite Catholic Priest Rev. Michael and the right wingers went nuts over what we considered a very sensible sermon. Again, we understand that as a candidate for the Presidency of these United States you had to distance yourself from him as well. That also meant that there was a greater chance of you having to disassociate yourself from TUCC and we understand that.
Then, of course there is the issue of your grandmother, your crazy uncle in the attic and now comes that scoundrel Jim Lynch writing in "bRight & Early" a really nasty post with a photoshopped picture of a bus with all your friends and relations "under the bus" so to speak. To show you what we mean, we show this disgusting picture.

Well, of course the picture shows Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn as the next folk you may have to distance yourself from and we thing that that is a despicable thing to say about the next Secretary of State and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development respectively. In addition, we recognize that you may have many, many more so called skeletons hidden away that also may need to go "under the bus"
Wanting to make our contribution to your effort, because we believe in you, and because we were paid big bucks encouraged a lot to help out, we have designed a new bus for you. I'm sure you have heard of extra long "stretch" limousines, well this is a stretch Bus, but in a new and exemplary direction. Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
GM Roper
President, MBCofC
