Global Warming Hockey Stick - In Time for NHL All Stars

The discredited hockey stick graph*, aka bull "hockey," in revised, fun picture form.  Now, is it clear?

The Hockey Stick Graph - As illustrated by Tim Lambert, Ph.D.

* The "hockey stick" as a term coined for the chart of temperature variation over the last 1,000 years. The chart is relatively flat from the period A.D. 1000 to 1900, indicating that temperatures were relatively stable for this period of time. The flat part forms the stick's "shaft." After 1900, however, temperatures appear to shoot up, forming the hockey stick's "blade." The combination of the two in the chart suggests a recent sharp rise in temperature caused by human activities.

Update:  As Jim Hitchcock reminds us, get ready for baseball season!.  Baseball comments welcomed.

Yeah, I hope the Dodgers do well with all of those former Braves players.  I think that pitchers and catchers report next week.

I also remember this article and fine picture:  http://tinyurl.com/9vrvw

The NHL All-star game is in Atlanta.  We were supposed to have it earlier but the players went on strike that year.  All I got was a jacket with the All-Star logo for a game never played.  This year, I didn't renew my Thrasher's season tickets, so I'm out of luck.

However, I did renew the Braves tickets and have my same seats.  Last year I made money by selling the tickets to stupid fans from other cities.  So, essentially, the games that I attend don't cost me anything other than parking!

Are you still in Reno?

3 Oops.  That last comment was from me, but I was logged in as G.M. for a post.  Oh, well.

4 I live and work in Carson City. I go to Reno every Saturday night to hang out in casinos with my cousins and 87 year old, 1 legged aunt!.

I bought a 2 story duplex 4 months ago...my sister and I split $379,900
from the LAX Relocation Dept. Long story short, we sold our home a month or so before 9/11 due to airport expansion. We continued to rent for the next 5 years, and the airport was obligated to pay the difference between purchase price ($279,000) and replacement cost in May of '05 ($649,000). It was a great deal (we got to ride the boom without actually owning real estate), but boy, did they fight us every step of the way! I elaborate later...

7 ...And the Padres and Dodgers are playing two ST games in Beijing (at the new stadium built for the Olympics.

I can't wait, though, for the Dodgers/Red Sox games at the Coliseum. I'll bet GM 2 bucks that JD can't hit one over the right field wall.

8 Tickets for the Coliseum games go on sale next week, with prices as low as $1.00 for standing room.

Standing room tickets promise to give you a view of almost, but not quite, nothing of the game.

Ahmed, leave it to you to inject a non sequiter question.  But, since you MUST know, no one.  Fred dropped out and he was the only conservative left in the race so... we'll have to wait and see.  No one on the left or right grabs me, and certainly no Democrat or Republican for that matter.  Who are you supporting now that the two front runners as slinging mud, acting like little children and have all but destroyed anything billy boy clintoon stood for (or against for that  matter, he has turned himself into a real poultroon hasn't he?).

And pretty boy Edwards is just plain laughable.  So, which idiot are you supporting Ahmed?  The world wants to know!

10 I'm not sure how the "Hockey Stick" morphd into a discussion of baseball, but I was interested in the crossfire between GM and Ahmed.
I am glad that Fred Thompson dropped out, because he was a good TV DA, but didn't seem to have much platform beyond abortion issues.
I wonder what has happened to the quality of candidates, There isn't a real live patriot in the bunch. I am not pleased to include my favorite Democrats in that statement. McCain started with such good qualities, but he has morphed (love that word) into a Republican toady who will continue to blow thru a BILLION dollars a DAY in the phoney incursion of Iraq.
The pity of that being the money is largely being given to the Sunni chlefs as a bribe to keep from killing our troops. There's an idea, bring the troops home and just send the money.
Guy, you are correct. There is no candidate worthy of the post of President of the USA.
