A Magical Tour of the Psychbloggers

Once again it was time for me to do something different.  So self says I to me, what can we do that will pique our readers interest, give them some insight into the world I call home, the world of the mind, psychotherapy and the seemingly limitless ability of the left to thoroughly delude themselves. Thus once again beloved readers, lets take a tour of the Psych bloggers.  That intrepid bunch of folk who go out of their way to blog about, well, about anything and everything.  Our usual bunch of suspects include: Dr. Helen, Dr. Sanity, Shrinkwrapped, neo-neocon, Assistant Village Idiot, One Cosmos (Gagdad Bob), Sigmund, Carl and Alfred, and last but never least, that paragon of down under, that fellow who captures all of my spelling and grammatical errors, Dr. John Jay Ray.

Today, with a little editorializing of my own tossed in for your elucidation and edification, we begin with the delightful better half of the Instapundit (get that Glenn?  Heh!).  Today's choice is from a few days ago if you missed it, and if you didn't miss it, it's still from a few days ago.  But Dr. Helen talks about FIRE one of my very favorite organizations.  In this brief essay, she asks "Do Facts Matter to Liberals?" and of course the answer is ... nah, you go read it.  Read the comments too, they are well thought out and have something to add, as does Dr. Helen with each and every post.

Up next is one of my favorite lady shrinks,  Dr. Sanity.  Now, I have to let you know, not only is she one of my favorites, but she is also one of the very first blogs to link to GM's Corner and for that I will be forever grateful.  That and she is smart as hell too.  At any rate, this choice, "Morally Twisted" tells the tail of how different the left, the UN, and all those folk of similar bent get their panties all twisted about Palestine and the Pali's but don't seem to protest too much about Tibet.  A tidbit:

With every invitation to rejoin the civilized world that has been offered up to them, the Palestinians have instead chosen cultural suicide. They would much rather kill Jews than work to create a life for their children.

In fact, they'd rather their children kill Jews, too.

Now compare and contrast the Palestinians with the relatively gentle culture of Tibet and the non-violent philosophy of its spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama. You can also compare and contrast the deliberate brutality of China and its Communist leadership with Israel.
This is an important piece, if you don't read it, you will have done yourself a disservice.

Next up that intrepid psychoanalyst wrapped in SaranTM Wrap, the one, the only Shrinkwrapped.  Shrink takes on Hans Christian Anderson and L. Frank Baum in "The Emperor's New Clothes or the Wizard of Oz?" (oh, and the Irish Messiah O'Bama too).  A Tidbit for your burgeoning appetite for all things political:

The tale is not only a story of the pride and Narcissism of the Emperor but an equally telling commentary on the insecurity and gullibility of the adults who should know better but cannot see clearly.[emphasis added]
As always, the comments are well worth reading and you might want to drop a line or two yourselves.

Our next stop in our journey of discovery of wonder and mind boggling brilliance, not to short my own witty and erudite editing ability, is neo-neocon who scoops EVERYBODY with a scoop on the plans of Owlgore Al Gore! I won't give you a tidbit on this one folks, I dang near dropped my socks.

A good FIHMY (friend that I haven't met yet - though we thought we might one fine day in Houston, but twas not to be!) is the ever so brilliant and scholarly Assistant Village Idiot.  AVI, as those of us who love him call him, has a marvelous treatise on college education - Higher-Ed Costs.  A tidbit:

The pre-WWII model was that 4-year colleges served three purposes: initial training for the professions of law, medicine, and ministry; inculcation of Western classical values in the elite classes who were going to run the country anyway; practical training in science, technology, or business for the brightest males. A lot of this is still left over in our expectations of what college is.
Get thee hence and see what AVI hath wrought!

There is, noting the above entry on the Emperor's New Clothes, only one ruling Emperor of the Pun, the one, the only, the oh-so-punny Gagdad Bob who writes One Cosmos. What can I say about my hero of the Pun?  Grampagagdad Bob (or should he now change his moniker to Gag"gran"dad Bob in honor of the little tyke in his arms?) takes on the challenge of Prognostications of the Past & Memoirs of the Future.  Un Smidgen for to whet thy appetite for more:

When you speak truth, it is "toward" a target one is attempting to reach. But suppose you were Truth; then you would be the target, a sort of lure that pulls men toward you. In this sense, we are "caused" by Truth, while Truth, or the Word, is uncaused. It must co-exist in eternity.
.  Fair warning, Do Not Read With Hot Coffee In Your Mouth!

Now we come to that tripartite psycho-therapist, the fellows that know everything because they've talked to your mother Sigmund, Carl and Alfred.  Today's choice is Why Did The Pullet Cross The Road? The Philosophical Approach.  I'll not excerpt it, you gotta go there yourself. Heh! As that insterpundit might say!

Last on the list, and the farthest to travel to if you want to visit (he lives in Down Under) is Dr. John Jay Ray.  In his Greenie Watch he posts "Warming Island" -Another Global Warming Myth Exposed" in the Wednesday, April 02, 2008 issue.  A wee bite to tempt you further:

Silly claims like "Warming Island," no Inuit word for `robin,' and global warming killing frogs-claims which with a bit of due diligence are exposed as being inaccurate, but which are held up as poster children for global warming-only serve to hurt the alarmist cause rather than enhancing it.

There you have it buoys and gulls, one of these day's I'll do another!
